masak2 bersama taufiq ali

marilah kita daulat kan bahasa melayu hehe. hmm... sebenarnya takde benda nak buat; ni yg tulis post baru nih. nak cerita sedikit pasal masak-memasak hehe. sebenarnya aku dah bosan gila asyik duk masak benda yang sama aje jadi hari ni aku cuba sesuatu yg lain dan baru sket.

tengahari tadi time rehat aku tengok senpai aku makan nasi paprik. aku pon apa lagi pow la sket. uih sedap aje. so bila masuk malam aku check la kot internet, cari resipi nak buat nasi paprik. pastu pegi la lembutkan daging ayam ngan masak nasi dulu. sejam lepas tu, acara memasak resipi baru bermula. wa wa wee waa !

senang aje nak masak sebenarnya. mula2 potong la daging ayam tu kecik2 pastu goreng. tapi aku rasa aku tak potong besar2 sket tapi so ni kesilapan pertama aku. lepas goreng sampai dia nak masak2 sket, masukkan la cili, bawang besar ngan bawang putih yg telah di blend. tapi ikut resipi tu dia suruh letak bawah merah bukan nya bawang besar tapi aku takde so selamba aje la. tunggu lebih kurang 3-5 minit, pastu masukkan la sos tiram, sos tomato ngan kicap manis. sos cili takde so nak buat mcam mana. bila kuah dah mengelegak sket, tambah la air untuk ubahsuai kekuatan rasa kuah.

lepas tu, masukkan serai, daun limau purut ngan tomato 2-3 biji. serai tu dimasukkan setelah dihentam puas2 dengan senduk kayu. groovy terus bau masakan berubah. org2 melayu yg belagak mat saleh kata " wow nice aroma ! ". kacau. kacau. kacau. pastu siap la. pastu tiba la saat2 yg paling mendebarkan: testing.

uhh memang cuak gila. tapi bila aje sudu yg menampung kuah paprik yg buat pertama kali aku masak tu masuk kedalam mulut, ohh betapa lega nya hati. damn i'm a fucking genius ! ha ha ha menjadi ayam paprik aku ha ha ha. apalagi terus pegi ambik nasi, pastu pulun puas2. gilak ah dah setahun setengah tak makan paprik. mcam sial aje. syukur alhamdulillah.

aku bukan apa, sebab no 1 aku malas nak cuba resipi baru ialah takut tak menjadi. kalo tak menjadi, pastu tak sedap pulak tuh, mana bole buang, membazir nanti. jadi kena la makan sampai habis. ada sekali tu aku buat kari ikan tak menjadi. aduuhh memang tak sedap langsung. 2 hari makan baru la habis. memang seksa betul 2 hari tu. ada lagi satu tu aku masak nasi beryani buat pertama kali. tak menjadi jugak. tak sedap langsung, rasa mcam makan racun aje tapi bila terbayang kan budak2 kat afrika, aku habis kan jugak sambil gelak kan diaorg untuk melawan emotion damage yg aku terima daripada kegagalan untuk memasak nasi beryani yg betul. yg tu pon 2 hari makan baru habis. macam sial.

adoi abenda la post aku hari nih. tapi ok jugak sebab dah lama tak menaip kot bahasa melayu. habis satu post firefox punya spell checker tanda merah. hehe. weh kepada yg masih pakai internet explorer tu, cepat2 la murtad dan masuk geng2 firefox 2.0. memang power dan banyak fungsi browser nih. ringan pulak tuh !

ok chow ! next time aku masak paprik, aku nak masukkan sayur2 plak mcam carrot, broccoli, jagung etc. mesti lagi sodap, bole ajak mori join makan sekali hehe.

aku tau la gamba2 kat atas ni nampak takde la mcam sedap sangat tapi bagi aku memang sedap gila, aku bangga dengan diri sendiri. lain kali aku nak cuba improve plak cara aku hias hidangan hehe. biar kalah andartu2 yg tak reti masak heheehhehheehha.

November the 11th

so i have a question: have you ever woke up in the morning, feeling the soft breeze of morning air, while your skin rejoice the warm morning sunlight, and then you said to yourself, " hey ! i wanna be a fucking veggie ! "? that happened to me last saturday ( 11th of november ).

it was like any other ordinary saturday morning, i woke up at about 9 a.m. and found out that i had dry semen in my pajama pants. man these wet dreams are crazy, i can't control them anymore! i used to knew really well how my body works sexually but this is just too much, too messy. i guess i should reduce watching documentaries about monkeys having sex. i also think that by turning into a vegetarian, i'll have more wet dreams without being messy at the end, which is nice; but i'll talk about my wet-dream-on-a-basis topic next time ladies.

so i took a nice warm bath. turned on the tv for some recent news. oh not again ! another japanese kid, this time from saitama, committed suicide because he can't stand being bullied in school. he's just 11 years old. how sad. for those who didn't know, the current ' boom ' in japan right now is helpless elementary/junior high school students committing suicide because they're being bullied at school; but the management people from the school won't acknowledge the fact that bullying did exist in their school, just for the sake of protecting the school's good image.

japan is already famous with it's weird suicidal people but kids being infected by this horrible ' virus ' is very new and worrying because japanese live longer, yet having fewer children resulting a shrinking workforce that could choke even the world's second economy power. japanese people work very hard because they think that by having wealth, they would be happy. but they are not always right. although japan is a very wealthy country, it seems that they're not so happy. social pressure seem to be the biggest problem here because the japanese really care about their image, making them always restraining themself in every action taken in their society. wait a minute, i'm kind of lost here so let's skip this topic hehe.

so noverber the 11th is also the day sony launched it's next generation game console: the ps3 in japan, going head to head with rival company microsoft with their xbox 360 and nintendo with their very different wii. ps3 with the revolutionary CELL; a super microprocessor developed in a joint effort by IBM, Sony and Toshiba ( which is ironic because Sony is in a deathmatch with Toshiba over the battle between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray ); is the giant japanese company's only hope to recover their broken image after some incidents that tarnished it's image ( laptop battery overheat resulting fire, lost in portable music market to Apple, intrusive virus-like cd-copying security etc. ).

the 20gb version of ps3 is sold at a very steep price ( at least for a game console ) at 49850 yen; and don't be surprised when i told you that the production cost of one ps3 is more that the street price, at about 70000 yen !!! although sony lost about 20000 yen every ps3 sold, they are hoping to recover the deficit with it's software sale and licensing. they did the same thing with the ps2, and they have been churning HUGE profits just after 2 years in it's life cycle and have been conquering almost 60% of the game console market. microsoft did the same thing when it launched it's first gaming console, the xbox, so that it's more competitively-priced, but failed to gain any profit and turn a red check into a blue one. but xbox is not a total failure because it has stolen at least 20% of the market share once dominated by nintendo and sony, and that's a success story for a rookie in this competitive business. and microsoft has used that market it gained during the last-gen period to set foot their next and MUCH better game console: xbox360. launching 1 year earlier than sony and nintendo, robust and proven LIVE! network of online gaming, reasonable pricing and great exclusive titles ( gears of war, halo 3 etc. ); all these positive traits from the software company has denied easy entry for sony this time around.

although ps3 is surely a bleeding edge high-tech machine that every single male ( the female gamer is increasing everyday though ) wants their hands on, sony has been messing around with their production line, unable to deliver their promise to have 2million units ready at launch. they're only launching with 100000 units in japan ( an another 400000 units for northern america come this 17th november ) ! that's 1/10 of what they have delivered during the ps2 launch, and that machine was sold out just minutes after launch ! the japanese gamers are sure desperate enough to have the ps3 at launch that they pay chinese homeless people 20000 yen to wait in line for them to buy the ps3 when the store opens at launch day.

i'm no analyst, but i predict in the end of the life cycle of these 3 game consoles, the market share this time won't be conquered by sony anymore. it's going to be like ps3 38%, xbox 32% and wii 30%. and that could be another way around because this round of console wars is very competitive and unpredictable. i'll watch with much anticipation. i want a ps3 and xbox 360 though. what about the wii ? meeh the wii is for kiddies and casual gamers. i'm a true gamer so ps3 and xbox 360 is the way to go, at least for me.

so i would like to end this today's long post. and yeah about me being vegetarian, i give up on the fourth day. it's been fun but oh my god i can't live without meat ! but to think about it again, i've done more than i thought i couldn't.

me and chicken curry party

2 days ago, me and the members of my research lab group along with the professor were having a conversation about malaysia and suddenly that conversation ended up by them asking me to make an authentic malay curry for 6 people ( including the professor's wife who from what i heard, is a curry maniac ) and we would have a little 'kenduri' at the lab; a 'kenduri' to celebrate what, i don't know.

I'm more than happy to cook something nice for them but i'm a bit worried because i've never cook for more than 3 people; wait a minute.... when i was living in tokyo i DO cook for more than 3 people at least once a week ( to be exact, 4 people) but that was like 2 and a half years ago, i might have lost all my skills hehe.

so if i'm the only one who is going to cook, that's not fair so i asked everyone of the to do some contribution for the party and make it not just a ' gathering to eat that hot curry made by that malaysian guy ' thing. so i told the prof to prepare the rice, yuusei & murata to prepare drinks and utensils and nagatou kun to prepare the mouth washers. then out of no where, nagatou kun said " i'll bake some nan ( that bread that indians eat with their curry ) too ! ". i didn't know that he cooks ! and what a good cook he is because his nan tastes pretty much like the real thing !

so the it was EATING time ! i was quite nervous of their reaction. is it going to be too spicy for them? is the chicken tender enough? are there enough curry for all six? and most importantly, does it taste good and do i still retain my skills in making a very delicious chicken curry? the answer from them was a relief for me. it tasted great! so i was told. surely not my best chicken curry but yuusei even said " after eating this, i thought to myself what kind of curry have we been eating all this long? we've been missing on such a great tasting chicken curry ! ". so ok, i've been living in japan more more than 3 years and i know they would never say that it doesn't taste good even if the food actually tastes nasty. they will say it's oishii ( means tasty) but this time these guys are producing positive comments right from their heart through their mouths. i just know it. err.... i guess.... i hope... hmm.... well it gotta be good !

after the rice went out, we tried the curry with the nan that nagatou kun made. mmm delicious! even more tastier than with the rice ! man my english sucks ! after that we wash our mouth with the yogurt milk pudding and while doing that, i talked ( a LOT ) about malaysian food and its' holy greatness. they seem to be very interested in coconut juice and the king of the fruits: DURIAN !!!!!

all in all it was a good evening, if it wasn't great. i hope with this, i could make up with the prof because lately i'm been messing around and not really focusing on my research ( but i am going to more serious after this ) so i guess this is one way to say ' sorry ' and hope for a better relationship in the future man what the hell is wrong with my english?

bye.

nak balik ke tak nak ah?

arr i'm still undecided whether to go back to malaysia this winter holiday or not. i'm only be able to stay in malaysia for a mere 18 days because winter holiday is very short here in nagano kousen. the ticket home and back would probably cost me around 70000 yen *including tax (that is not cheap but still a lot more cheaper than during the summer holidays). there are advantages and also annoying disadvantages in every choice that i'm going to make concerning this.

if i DO choose to go back, the advantages would be 1) i can go back duuh ! but this is kind of a big thing because i haven't gone back this whole year, and i ALWAYS go back at least once a year. 2) i can get myself a modded ps2 and maybe if i'm lucky enough, even a XBOX360 woot! and i can also go to a much cheaper jeans shop to repair my many unfit-to-wear jeans.

* arr in 10 minutes they are going to cut the internet connection. i'll continue tomorrow.

so what's the disadvantages of going home? actually there is none but i'll make it up anyways: 1) money, money, money. the total cost for transportation is going to be around 70000yen. and every time i went back home, i MUST spend at least 90000 yen; buying gifts, eating a LOT of different kinds of food then regretting the aftermath ( that is having a rather large and disturbing belly ) and just throwing away money to the poor. that would sum up to be a huge loss of my precious rakyat money ! but i can always restrain myself from spending too much, right? just buy the modded xbox360 and forget about the rest ok?! 2) i would miss this year's new year celebration at yuusei's house. i heard that his father ( a man that doesn't speak to much ) are going to actually take out the spider-web raped omochi tools and make omochi this year surrounded by 3 meters high wall of snow !! that would be fun and i also want to meet his friendly mom and two sisters ! but if i go back, i could celebrate hari raya haji in the warm bright sun of malaysia and see again how gory it is for us human to slaughter an animal so that we could fill our stomach with nice delicacies. so i guess this is not a disadvantage. like i said before, there is NO disadvantage in going back home for a short holiday. the only thing that bugs me is that the holidays is too short, compared to summer holiday.

arr stop complaining already and go home! i've already contacted my travel agency and currently i'm waiting for their reply. i hope there are seats for me, i think i'm going to be quite OK because i book early. now the only thing i should do now is to do a little bit more research about hacked and modded xbox 360, and then study a little bit for the coming mid-semester exam. oh yeah i know how to spend the malaysian people's money quite efficiently !
