recent updates: it's the 18th of April

it has been a very busy month for me.

as i learned and gained more work-experience, my superiors have been increasing my work load and making me make decisions all by my own.

this learning process takes a lot of time and effort, and i could feel myself improving after each mistake and right decisions that i chose. it took a lot of gut to get up after being thrown violently onto the hard floor, and each fall makes me stronger and wiser.

i just hope that i'm not working way over my capacity.

just a little over is enough.

as i get used to working hard, i realized that i have developed this tendency to enjoy my weekdays like never before.

last week was fucking crazy as hell, i didn't know that i'm capable of doing something so crazy.

man people here sure do know how to party.

of course, i can't just write about what i did last weekend; some kids read my blogs and actually took me for a role model.

anyways, i'll be in malaysia from april 28 to may 5.

can't wait to be re-united with family and friends; i hope people still remembers that i exists.

and oh, i just bought a new semi-double bed from rakuten at a very cheap price.

expecting more crazy shit to be experienced with the help of this one new furniture.

life goes on. i keep making money by trying to reduce damages originating from other people's fuck-ups.

when a big foreign company tried to fish me with money in exchange of taking a position i have no interest in, things sure is not so bad.

i'll work hard, and i'll play harder.

Win 7 Network Hassle

I remember praising Microsoft for their effort on Windows 7.

Well, I take that back.

Because they made resolving network problems such a pain in the anus hole of chipanzeez godamnit I don't know how to spell the closest species to humans correctly!

A couple of weeks ago, I suddenly cannot access the internet.

It says (by it, I mean the network and sharing center) that I got only Local Area Network but no internet connection.

So I did the obvious, and checked my ipconfiguration through cmd>ipconfig/all

Everything was OK and pinging the default DNS server gave a positive response.

Then I tried pinging google but to avail. 100% failure.

I understand that there are thousands and thousands of reasons for this, but after changing my LAN Adapter (yes, that’s a hardware change) and upgrading it to the latest driver (I have another computer with Win XP running flawlessly) with no improvement what so ever, I cannot avoid from being angry; anger management can't fix my network problem can it now?

I tried releasing ip through cmd>ipconfig/release and then force it to generate a new one through cmd>ipconfing/renew but nothing changes too.

I even tried the cmd>netsh winsock reset catalog command but still, nothing happens.

I am pissed like a muslim from a third world country in a stupid cartoon demonstration.

I must admit that I am very new user to vista and win 7, and I got me some heavy fast reading through the internet to get a hold of the idea of the new ip protocol, the Ipv6.

I tried turning off Ipv6 and just use Ipv4, and still nothing improves.

Even my last effort, the hidden card; to make a OS reinstall did not improve the problem. I am scratching my balls and pulling my hair for this.

At this point, I realized that I have used my entire network troubleshooting knowledge, so I decided to bring the computer to the professionals.

I put the darned heavy beast in the car, and drove to the nearest PC DIY store.

The computer guy boots up my computer, put the Ethernet/LAN cable in, and magically, the damn thing got internet connection!

It's like David Blaine is hiding there somewhere with a hidden camera to capture my reaction to his latest magic trick. Damn you David Blaine! You're so fucking cool.

I am so pissed that I really want to slap that computer dude’s face with a HUGE wood dick that they used in Penis Festivals in Japan, even though he did nothing wrong. I just hated his unnatural smirk that he has on his face, a common facial feature in geeks.

So my hardware is 100% OK, and this means that the real culprit is my ISP, or maybe it is just a compatibility problem between my LAN Adapter and NTT's Hikari Fiber line.

So I contacted my apartment’s administrator to get hold of NTT so that I could ask their DNS server because I want to manually set up my network for my new but troublesome core i7 Win 7 setup; but they said that NTT cannot give that information because of security reasons.

Does NTT really know their own shit?

How the fuck could I invade their security by just knowing their DNS server address?

I can’t believe this shit is happening to me during this cold winter holiday; I could have been bothered with something else!

I need to talk to the NTT guy personally, and I’m going to smack his ass on the phone; because the act of smacking ass through physical means is illegal in Japan, and I am a good citizen.

And this does not mean that Win 7 is not a partner in crime. The new HOMEGROUP network setting is such a hassle when one wants to link to another computer using OS other than Win 7.

Bad, bad boy Microsoft.

hair-cut fail

went to cut my hair.

went to this unknown barber shop.

the price for a cut was not that cheap.

3200 yen.

that's about rm 121.

but i was fed up driving around without any direction trying to find a proper hair saloon.

and i knew it.

it was a HUGE mistake.

now my hair looks like a goddamn mushroom from mario bros.

note to self: always go to a proper hair saloon that has: proper male stylist and a cute girl as the hair washer and massager. ALWAYS!

rearanging the new room

i'm extremely bad at placing things in my room to make it look like something that humans could live in comfortably.

it has just been a month since i moved to toyota city, and i'm thinking about doing this thing they call 'interior design'.

i start with nothing at all.

then i mess the whole thing up with stuff from my previous apartment.

then i made little effort to look more civilized by placing an unfinished metal rack and a reclining seat on random spaces.

then i bought a tv, a computer table with side-rack and a computer table.

aaahhh i'm too lazy for this shit.

as long as i can watch (Onedari Masukatto) every Sunday in HD, i'm OK.

no time for blogging anymore?

i knew this would happen.

ever since i started working, the frequency of new posts here dropped to an unexpected rate.

the reason is quite clear.

i don't really have the time to write as freely as before.

i got home every night, late and tired like a child labor in china making your nike's.

being the lazy ass that i am, i 'll try my best to complete the most basic chores before i could go to bed with the most minimum amount of efforts.

chores like preparing for dinner, taking the shower and maybe doing some light cleaning.

on weekdays, i would woke up very late like a jobless loser, and spend most of my weekends going out, venturing strange Japan; or just avoid the sun completely by staying in playing video games and watching movies.

LOTS, and LOTS of movies.

and i don't really have anything to write.

and even if i do, it would probably be something so inappropriate, so disgusting and morally sick, that it would be wise if i just keep it to myself and among those personally involved directly or indirectly.

;P

because i am not a student anymore.

i gotta be careful with what i write.

but i guess a couple of pictures of sexy japanese girls in a nurse cosplay won't hurt.

entah la pak ali, asalkan ko tak pening2 lalat duk pikir benda2 susah. kena ingat, bila tak tahu jawapannya, kena cakap tak tahu. tak boleh memandai-mandai!

korang pula bagaimana? sanggup jawab soalan2 seperti diatas?

more movie reviews woot

Tropic Thunder – 7.5
I expect a silly movie and Ben Stiller didn’t disappoint. The story of the movie is pretty bad, but what makes this movie watchable it its set of funny characters full of personalities. Ben Stiller is still funny, Jack Black is as always, the shouting fat guy and Robert Downey Jr is just brilliantly silly; his character is really refreshing if you consider how Ben Stiller likes the characters in his movie to be always the same. I recommend watching Apocalypse Now first though to understand some of the spoof in the movie. The movie also spoofed lots of other famous Hollywood movies, like I am Sam, Forrest Gump, Once Upon A Time In America, Mad Max, Rambo etc. and it makes it easier to understand the jokes if you’ve seen all those movies. Funny movie, but you have to have some decent movie knowledge to fully enjoy it. If you’re a fan of Ben Stiller movies, you probably won’t be blown away by Tropic Thunder, but you’ll surely enjoy the ride.

Taken – 8.2
Liam Neeson is a kick-ass secret agent retiree on a rage to save his daughter who was ‘taken’ by human traffickers. This film reminds me of 24, the Bourne series and a little bit of Hostel. The movie starts slow but once the action starts rolling, it was really worth it. The fighting sequences were fun to watch and the main character didn’t stop to think about whether he should pity him enemies, he just gave them what they deserve: PAIN. This is a popcorn action flick, so the sense of believability is very low but that didn’t bother me because I was on the edge of my seat the whole time to the end. Very entertaining movie and I would recommend this to action movie lovers.

Pineapple Express – 8.0
Seth Rogen is really a screenplay genius; he really knows how to write some seriously funny dialogs. James Franco (the son of Green Goblin in Spiderman) really surprised me with his amazingly brilliant performance as a lazy-ass stoner. The story is pretty silly but the whole cast in the film is funny with their distinct personalities and I just can’t stop laughing through the whole movie. If you like comedies, you’re going to enjoy this. Recommended.

Traitor – 8.0
I don’t want to spoil the storylines but I must say, this is a refreshing take on action movies about religious extremist and their way of doing things. The story about the cat and mouse relationship between a CIA Agent and a high-profile terrorist, seems quite cliché at first, but it got really interesting quite quickly that you’re always at the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next. If you like the thinking man’s thriller, you’d probably want to watch this.

The Bank Job - 8.2
Another worth-watching movie about bank robbers, and how they got away with it, with Jason Statham as the lead. The movie starts slow but it get really interesting pretty fast and suddenly you were presented with all sort of small plots that tides up the end very well. I love thrillers about bank robbers, corrupt police and politicians, and I enjoyed watching this movie. And to realize that this movie is based on a true story, I was really impressed by how interesting the events that happened, and how they’re stringed together. Very easy to recommend.

She Cyborg (僕の彼女はサイボーグ) – 6.0
Like a lonely guy’s most desired dream come true, a pretty, genki girl appeared out of no where; turning one guy’s boring life into a fun, exciting one. The film borrows the time traveling cyborg plot very heavily from The Terminator, and made it more unnecessarily confusing and long, especially at the end. The first-half portion of the movie is quite enjoyable, but the second half is not. Thankfully, Haruka Ayase made a pretty good looking female cyborg.

The House Bunny – 6.5
I always liked Anna Faris in all those funny Scary Movies series; she definitely played that ‘stupid blonde’ character so very brilliantly, and she did it again in this movie. It was pretty funny but I think Adam Sandler (the director) is depending too much on Anna Faris to bring ‘life’ to the movie. I know, that’s what main characters do, but it seems a little bit too much. If Anna Faris is not in this movie, it would be unwatchable at all because the story is predictably lame and it was obvious that this is a ‘chick flick’ with all the outfits and themes of sister-bonding. Funny movie, but you’ve probably seen these types of movies before, and they’re better than this one.

Superhero Movies – 7.6
The barrage of parody movies never stops, and this time, it’s the superhero movies’ turn to be parodied, and as a silly and funny movie, you can’t ask for more. The jokes are stupid and fun; just don’t expect to be laughing all the way from start to finish. I enjoyed watching this because I didn’t expect much from these types of movie; it is light, silly and probably worth the watch if you’re bored and got nothing else to do.
Eagle Eyes – 7.2
The story of this movie immediately reminds me of I Robot and maybe a little bit of Die Hard 4; you know, the kinda story about artificial intelligence trying to control our human lives. Yes, it is not the best movie in the ‘computers controlling human’ genre, but the action sequences were done well and the actors did their job. I just hope Shia LeBeouf stop playing the same character that he has been in his previous movies like Constantine, Transformers, Indy 4 etc. This is just another decent Hollywood action thriller; quite entertaining but nothing special.

Sztuczki (Tricks) – 7.0
It’s hard to describe this Polish movie; it seems like the director has no intention to put a proper, normal plot into the narration. Instead, the viewer is left with a cute innocent young boy with his playful ways of spending his free time. The acting in this movie is superb, but the lack of a strong ‘point’ makes it hard to fully appreciate it. This is a good movie, but it’s not for the mainstream.

Pacchigi! – 7.6
This is not just another movie about a Japanese boy who has a crush on a Korean immigrant during the 60’s in Kyoto; it’s more than that. The movie portrays the hardship of Zainichi Koreans, violence between Japanese school gangs vs Korean school gangs, about teen sex and all the good stuff during the 60’s. A lot of Japanese directors put a very huge importance on believability, and this movie has that in buckets full of it. The movie might put some people off because of the ‘realistic’ approach to acting and how slow the movie moves, but this is surely one of the Japanese movies that I am going to remember. The only problem that I got with the movie is that it took the director too much time to get to the point, and this is a very distinct personality of Japanese directors compared to Hollywood. Still worth the watch though.

Get Smart – 8.4
This film is simply hilariously brilliant. It is silly and doesn’t take itself seriously, but the jokes were delivered very well and the action sequences are better than an average action film. There were no boring moments in this film as it was full of funny moments, and of course, Anna Hathaway is freaking hot! Steve Carell is so funny even when he’s not trying to be. I have a good, healthy laugh watching this, so if you love comedy, I’d recommend this movie for sure!

Burn After Reading – 7.5
The directors of No Country For Old Men, the Coen brothers is back with a new film that is very different from their last achievement. You’d be disappointed if you expected a film as violently cool as their previous work, because Burn After Reading is not one of those movies; instead, this movie focuses of how idiots people could be and how paranoia could really mess you up and end up wasting your time without leaving any meaning at all in the end. This is a good movie in its own, but don’t expect to be blown away. And one more thing, don’t expect the film to have any deep meanings; you’d want to burn it after watching.

Star Wars The Clone Wars The Movie – 7.5
I never watched a single episode of the animated Clone Wars series, but that doesn’t stop me from watching the big screen version because I’m a shameless Star Wars fan. The story is pretty much what you would expect from a Star Wars universe. Although not entirely bad, I just wished that they put more crazy, over-the-top, balls to the walls, awesome action scenes in it, because it does feel a little bit ‘empty and hey that's not enough!’. Well, this IS a movie for kids, so I guess I shouldn’t expect more of it.

Sukiyaki Western Django – 8.0
Taking heavy influences from Akira Kurosawa’s classic Yojimbo and also some famous spaghetti-western movies like Django and Fistful of Dollars, this latest film from the Japanese director with a cult status, Takashi Miike is all about visual, over content. This is probably the end result if you mix western, samurai, anime and off the chart, crazy saturated colors in a movie. This film is pretty bizarre in its weirdness, and the action sequences really make it a worth while experience. If you like unconventional movies, you’ll have to watch this. Just don’t expect it to make any sense at all.

JFK – 8.5
This is a very well directed and acted movie about the conspiracy theories behind the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Although it was long (about 3 hours), I was never bored because interesting story elements and information were told in the appropriate pace, making sure the viewer is not overloaded with information, trying to juggle all these set pieces and complete the complicated puzzle that is the JFK assassination. This is a movie about a very complicated investigation, so there were a lot of flash-backs and questions to be asked but everything was tight up pretty well to make it easier for the viewer to understand. If you like investigation movie that involves the secret service society, politics and the American military industrial complex, I’m sure you’re gonna love this one. The film demands you to think and to be able to manage and arrange information, so if you don’t like that, surely you would not enjoy watching this. Highly recommended to those few people who like intricate and detailed story-telling with a lot of information to chew on, but DEFINETELY not for the masses.

Shaolin Girl (少林少女) – 4.0
I love Stephen Chow’s Shaolin Soccer. I hate the Japanese adaptation of it, the Shaolin Girl. Instead of a crazy guy with mad kungfu skills, they replaced it with a normal girl who does lacrosse. The entire movie is boring; the special effects were lame, the acting was bad, the story is terrible and the director even has the nerve to put ‘emotional’ scenes in it to fish for emotions from the viewer. This is a bad Japanese movie. Stay away. Just stick to your 2002’s Shaolin Soccer.

My Sassy Girl (Hollywood Remake) – 5.0
Why does Hollywood constantly remakes good Asian films, ‘Americanizes’ it, and totally messes everything up as a result? The original My Sassy Girl (2001) was one of the early films that got me into Korean movies, by introducing a very sadistic female lead, but still being cute and funny at the same time, and made you want to GET hurt by pretty women. The new Hollywood remake failed to impress me because it was not funny at all, the set-up was so ‘American romantic comedy movie’ –like, and the acting was terrible. Although the storyline on this remake is a lot easier to understand than the original, it really felt like everything was being ‘dumbed down’ for western audiences. If it was not for Elisha Curtbert, I don’t think I would even want to watch this to the end. Forget about this Hollywood remake, watching the original for the 100th times is better than this crap.

Incredible Hulk - 6.5
Don't expect an amazing story because this is a comic-book movie about a guy who turns into a mean green beast of a doofus when he got angry. The action sequences are decent enough and the last fight scene were pretty fun to watch. Other than that, this is just another lifeless comic book movie that is forgettable and so mediocre.

OMFG I'm 24 !

Thanks to the awesome power of the internetsazz and facebook, my friends have successfully reminded me of my own birthday that is today.

Thanks for all the kind wishes, I really appreciate it.

But just like before, I still don’t understand all this fuzz about celebrating birthdays. I mean, what is the point?

Ok, I have nothing against having a small makan2 (people eating together) to celebrate one’s own birthday, but I just don’t understand those people who want to be treated like a Queen for the day, and went really upset if I don’t remember her birthday.

To tell you the truth, I really don’t care whether my friends don’t remember my birthday, because I sure hell don’t remember theirs! And I seriously have no ‘negative’ intention when I said that, really!

But because of social networking sites like Facebook that conveniently displayed whose birthday it is on that day occasionally, I was able to appear socially fit by letting me simply wish them their birthdays by typing something into their ‘wall’.

Don’t get me wrong here, I really do mean those birthday wishes from the bottom of my heart and I do wish them a good birthday ritual, and I do it because I know it makes them feel a little bit better and I want them to feel a bit special on their own anniversary of being able to escape from their mother’s womb; I just don’t understand why it’s so special.

I’ve never celebrated my own birthday, but I do attend birthday parties when I’m invited, and I always stood there wondering, why is it so fun to blow candles on cakes? Why do they need those balloons and fire-crackers?

I’m happy that they’re having a good time, but I still don’t understand.

Anyways, now that I’m officially 24, I can rent hardcore Japanese porn! Yay! Wait a minute; I can do that since 5 years ago. So… what kind of sick, disgusting thing that I’m legally allowed to do now that I’ve officially turned 24? A visit to the nearest soapland, perhaps?

Hmm nothing changes since I turned 18… so why am I even writing this?

Anyways, once again I would like to say thanks for those who wished me happy birthday, and I want to let all of you know that I really appreciate it. Maybe I should try to be more excited about my own birthday, perhaps that could help me be closer to being a normal person.

Thesis Crisis of The Weekend

I woke up this morning to the sound of my cellphone buzzing.

YOU GOT MAIL

It was from my research professor, so I know that this will be an important one because he normally sends emails ONLY when there is something really necessary to be informed; but this time I was not prepared at all for this particular email.

My professor’s father died last night, and today he is going back to his hometown in Kyoto to take care of it. Rest In Peace.

He also said in the mail that he is taking a brief break and probably will not be in Akita until next week.

I was really sad to hear this, but then I realized that I should be more shocked, worried and sad even more:

I was supposed to meet him tomorrow (Monday) so that I could present him my preparations for the coming thesis interim-presentation on Wednesday. The objective of the meeting is to make sure that the decisions and choices that I made in preparation for the presentation is in-line with his visions about the thesis; and also to check the flow of the whole presentation, confirm the data and simulation method, and also my Japanese grammar.

But now with him not being able to make the meeting, I am left to check and fool-proof my own work, which is very difficult for me to do at this point because I just got the theme of the thesis 2 weeks ago, therefore not acquiring enough knowledge and intellectual skills to do it myself.

I’m kinda fucked here.

Ok, it might not be as bad, but what worries me is not the presentation, but the ‘questioning time’ AFTER the presentation. I’m worried that the other professors, who are going to attend the presentation, are going to torture me with sarcastic critics on how half-assed my ideas were and how terrible the presentation was.

Having to do the presentation without first consulting with my research professor, I really have lost confidence to perform well, presenting and answering questions correctly. Japanese professors are pretty vicious when it comes to criticizing student’s presentations. They will rip and tear you apart if you make a dumb mistake, and that will really make you ‘down’.

Ah! Enough with the whining! I can do this! I've been in worse conditions before so bring it on bitches!

^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

On the other hand, I’m so disappointed in myself at how bad I handle the death of the people of the people that I know. I really have a problem on what to say to them at these sad times. I really want them to know that I felt sorry for them, but I lack the proper social skills to tell them my feeling. This is because I’m always concerned that I might have a slip of the tongue and totally make it worse for him/her.

I really don’t know about what is the proper response that I should give my research professor. If anyone out there has an idea, please share it with me. Should I call him? Should I just send my condolences through email? What should I say? I'm really clueless and lost here

:(

After thinking carefully about what I'm going to write, finally I have decided to send the professor something simple. This is what I sent him:

突然の訃報にただ驚いています。心より御冥福をお祈りいたします。中間発表は頑張ってやりますので、心配しないで下さい。それでは失礼します。

At first, I was going to sent him something that I later realized as being too 'formal and native' for a foreigner to write. Something like this:

I hope everything will be fine with his family.

And also my interim-presentation.

ccccold

it's getting colder here, and i started to piss more often these days because i don't sweat anymore. my skin started to loose moist; a good sign to buy ample stock of body lotion.

walaupon time ambik air sembahyang, rasa perit gila sejuk, tapi rasa best sebab at least aku usaha jugak nak jaga solat. tapi solat dalam keadaan mengeletar kesejukan, takleh khusyuk jugak hehehe.

belog pos hari nih

yesterday i went to the akita prefecture's 運転免許センター(unten menkyo senta - driving license centre) to apply for a japanese driving license.

i parked my bike at a leopalace apartment (which is prohibited) close to the eki, and then took the bus to the place. it was a 45 minutes ride and i spent the whole time reading a book on how to talk to women properly.

i don't remember when was the last time i ride a normal bus in japan so i forgot about how the system works. thanks for my superb observation powers, everything went smooth without any embarrassment. anyways, this one time, 2 girls got into the bus while text messaging with their cell phone, and the bus driver immediately gave them a 'bad' look and announced into the bus speaker system: 携帯はやめて下さい! (keitai wa yamete kudasai - please don't use your cell phone). i didn't know that you're not allowed to use your cell phone in a japanese bus!

i reached the centre safely, thinking that i have all the documents that i needed. of course i was wrong. i brought along my current passport, but they also need the previous passport as proof that i have stayed in malaysia for at least 90 days after i changed my 'lesen percubaan' to the 'real' license.

nothing can be accomplished without the older passport, so i have efficiently wasted my time that day. i spent the bus ride back listening to the best hits of siti nurhaliza.

i got back to my bike and immediately realized that i have lost the key. i tried to back-track to where i've been but how much further should i go back? i searched desperately for my keys.

i can't find the damn thing anywhere! i double-checked every pocket and every hole. if i have a vagina, i would probably searched there too.

yyyeeeeaaahhh....

it is just a bad day for me. so i got no other choice but to pick up my bike, and carry it home with me. the damn thing is heavy! berat dosa apa la basikal nih.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

today i went to homac to buy a saw to cut the lock of the bike, and on the way home, i stopped at marudai to buy dinner. their kimchi nabe were discounted 100yen so i bought it at 298 yen. cheap.

the kimchi nabe is a very simple meal, consisting of the kimchi paste, fish, shrimp, scallop and vegetables.

to prepare it, first you boil two cups of water. then put the kimchi paste in. then after about 5 minutes, put all the other ingredients, then wait for another 10 minutes.

then eat! if you want to, you could also add udon or mochi, but i just put one extra chicken egg in the combination because i was not that hungry. this korean dish is spicy, delicious, and definitely warmed me up.

now i can blog about this.

*the seminar that i was supposed to present this friday had been rescheduled to next week's thursday. i am suddenly free for a moment!*

manly love and new fragrance

i'm not trying to state the obvious here but the image above speaks nothing but the truth. i just think that both parties should understand the difference between each other and try to accept who they really are.

*^*^*^*^*^*^
after a suggestion from arip, i bought my first fragrance! i know nothing about branded fragrance so i just picked the most popular one from kakuku.com and i got the package yesterday. this particular fragrance, the bvlgari pour homme (how do you pronounce this?), doesn't smell that bad and i think i wouldn't have problems wearing this when i'm out. at least it smells nicer than my sweaty armpits.

*^*^*^*^*^*^
jamah bab politik malaysia sket. aku hairan sekarang, raja petra kena ISA, tapi ahmad ismail tak kena plak. busuk... memang busuk... pakai fragrance itali yang paling mahal pon, tetap busuk...

exams for the week

damn i so hate exams.

tomorrow : robotic engineering (ロボット工学)
the day after tomorrow : system engineering

these two are my most hated subjects in my degree course.

i've lost interest in robot-development through that robotic engineering subject. i thought doing robotics is cool, before i have to actually learn the basics and fundamental theories/theories of methods of moving a simple 3-point based robotic arm. the calculation is ridiculous!

i hate robots. robots will conquer the world and it will enslave us humans. you know, like in the movies, like the matrix.

so it would be better if they stop teaching robotic engineering and replace it with more human-friendly subjects,

like how to make a cute girl smile,

or how to teach your cat how to flush the toilet,

or how to eat ice-cream the right way so that it won't drip and leave a stain on your shirt,

during this hot summer season.

robotic engineering and system engineering comes hand in hand, so maybe that is why i hate them both, equally.

but there is no use of me ranting about this.

i should just do my best to pass the paper.

then, i won't have to worry about robots anymore.

but our grand-grandsons will have to;

because robots will conquer the world!

arrr arrr arrr !!!

mirror needed to help with reality-check

* * * * *

di raba sebelum solat jumaat

tengok jam. sudah pukul 12:10 tengah hari.

solat jumaat start pukul 12:20. jalan cepat sket ah, biar sampai surau awal.

aku berjalan pantas, mata lurus ke depan.

aku tak nampak awek2 berskirt mini kiri kanan.

aku tak nampak paha2 mereka yg putih melepak.

lagi2 dek pantulan cahaya matahari.

aku dalam perjalanan nak menunaikan solat.

aku berjalan pantas, mata lurus ke depan.

[ ali ! ali ! ]

hmm? sapa yg panggil tu?

alamak!

awek yg suka sentuh2 tu datang melambai plak!

aku tak nak terbatal air sembahyang plak.

so aku jalan pantas, mata lurus ke depan.

* * * * * * * * *

tapi aku sebenarnya jalan lambat, mata plak terus pergi ke arah suara yg memanggil nama aku.

baju style british high school punya sweater. mini skirt.

kalo terbatal wuduk, kena buka kasut, buka stokin, baru bole ambik wuduk balik.

tidak!

kali ni aku takkan benar kan dia nih raba aku!

* * * * * * * * *

baru aje 10 saat aku start bercakap, dia dah nak raba siku aku.

aku dengan pantas bertindak mengangkat siku.

biar dia raba tulang rusuk aku yg berlapik dengan baju daripada sentuh siku aku yg bogel.

tapi 'awek suka meraba' nih macam kucing.

mau dia gelak sampai mati sebab gembira gila. ]]

aku bersilat demi mempertahankan wuduk.

aku serious. gilak serious. sebab aku tak nak bukak stokin.

* * * * * * * * *

dalam kesengitan pertarungan yg hangat itu.

mcam mana ntah.

aku bole terlutut dia punya ibu jari sebelah kanan.

krak!

rangup bunyi pertembungan itu.

tapi air muka 'awek suka meraba' tu tak rangup langsung.

sakit sangat ke kena lutut ngan aku?

* * * * * * * * *

akhirnya aku berjaya mempertahankan wuduk.

tak payah buka stokin, bole terus solat.

tapi aku rasa.

lepas ni awek tu tak akan datang raba aku lagi.

cet.

* * * * * * * * *

aku tak kesah pon kena raba.

tapi jangan la time aku nak gi solat!

tapi aku rasa mcam tak adil la.

asal pompoan bole raba laki.

tapi laki tak leh raba pompoan?

i demand gender equality !!!

bunken happyou

alhamdulillah the presentation went smooth.

well... maybe it did not went exactly like i wanted it to ran.

i happened to forgot to set the stupid automatic progress function off; so the program changes the slides automatically after a short period of time. that was so clumsy of me.

at least i didn't get scolded as bad as okada-kun did.

man, i pity him. he made a little mistake for not using the pointer effectively, and got scolded big time by this one particularly cranky professor.

the very second the ruthless scolding moment stopped, everybody in the room went silent. probably the professor had a bad day, and lashed out on something so small.

he's just out of luck, i guess.

ok, now i got more time to focus on doing the mathematica programming language fortran. i think i'm kinda left behind in progress compared to the other kids in the research lab. i used to do C++ before, so i guess it wouldn't be that hard to play catch up.

i also have to prepare for the coming job-interview. this time i will have to sit for an aptitude test (適性試験) plus a 'weird' imagination test (想像力試験). anything they'd to to make an interviewee's life a little bit more nervous.

cheeky bastards.

lunch menu for the day: 六条麦茶(rokujyou mugi cha - rokujyo barley tea), さば弁当 (saba bentou - mackerel lunch set), 野菜生活100紫の野菜 (murasaki no yasai - purple veggie drink), glico's とろーりクリームプリン (torori kurimu purin - thick creamy pudding).

praktis present

aku start buat slide untuk presentation dari pukul 10:00 a.m.

garu sana, garu sini.

siap pukul 7:00 p.m.

so aku ajak la memba2 satu lab untuk tengok presentation punya rehearsal.

10 minit 32 saat. takde la terlebih limit masa pon.

pastu aku tanya diaorg: so, ada apa2 kesalahan? atau nak komen apa2?

" ok, nak start dari mana dulu. mula2 kan, ada penggunaan kanji yg tak betul. bukan tak betul, cuma bunyi tak best aje. pastu kat bahagian isotope tu, baik jangan pakai kanji, pakai katakana aje, lagi senang org faham. bla bla bla "

seribu satu komen, pembetulan, idea di lontarkan.

ooo nampak nya diaorg nih memang betul2 tengok ngan teliti la presentation aku nih. ingatkan tengok - tengok ayam aje. org jepun nih memang semangat aje all the time.

" bercakap pon kena practice lagi, biar bagi lancar sket. biar bunyi macam org jepun. pronunciation dah ok dah, cuma kelancaran aje yg masih bunyi mcam foreigner "

allo, aku memang foreigner pon.

kulit sawo matang.

hitam manis, kalo ikut kata peminat aku time form 3 dulu.

hehehehe.

pastu pegi panggil prof plak, untuk last check.

" hmmm..... banyak gak kena betul kan nih. lagi penting drpd tu, kamu faham tak teori yg sum frequency generation spectroscopy nih pakai? contact-mode atomic force microscopy nih penah pakai? continuum mechanics ada faham? "

aku geleng kepala. toleh tengok memba2 aku yg sedap aje mengomen aku tadi, diaorg pon geleng kepala.

" ok la kita start dari basic. high school physics. dulu penah buat experiment pecah kan cahaya pakai slit kan? wavelength berbeza ... friction nih kena kira sampai scala nano ... zarah2 nih serap cahaya, tukar kepada tenaga translational kinetic pastu pantul balik jadi haba ... perbezaan friction bole dikesan diantara berlian yg disaluti layer hydrogen ngan deuterium ... bla bla bla "

aku rasa tak penah aku dapat sebanyak ini ilmu dalam masa 3 jam. memang power la prof aku! senang2 aje dia citer subject yg major dalam materials enggineering, sedang kan dia mechanical enggineering punya prof. berasap gak otak aku nak proses sumer information nih.

dah la aku rasa kena tipu ngan cikgu fizik dulu2. teori nak cari friction yg diajar time skolah dulu tak tepat rupanya, kalo nak ambik kira luas dalam skala nano. aku makin faham sekarang kenapa dulu kita kena terima aje result yg padat ngan ralat.

3 jam jugak aku tahan berak. fuuh memang mencabar.

tengok jam kat dinding. pukul 10:30 malam. gilak ah.

makan tengahari untuk hari ni: 黒豆黒茶(kuromame kurocha - black bean's black tea), Kagome 紫の野菜(murasaki no yasai - purple veggie), 鮭弁当(shake bento - salmon set), クリームカニコロッケ(kuri-mu kani korokke - creamy crab croquette)

eating at work

i was starting to make eating lunch in the lab a habit recently. the lab is air-conditioned and cool, plus i could keep an eye on the progress of my current work at the same time so that i don't lose that 'working' mood. gotta keep the momentum going, i need to be focused on the job at all times.

anyways, i ate a 399yen saba bento today. the taste is ok and i can't really complain with the cheap price tag. the volume of the side dishes are also pretty good, with salad, tamago-yaki, etc.

i also got to try this new (at least for me) drink from sapporo: cola float! (picture below) i remember back in malaysia, i love to mix vanilla ice-cream with coca-cola, and it tastes EXACTLY just like that! although the color of the drink itself looks pretty dull and boring, the taste is not! it's very sweet, and creamy! try one!
