2009 winter holiday gaming plan

It is the winter holiday season again, and what better way to spend this cold season locked up in front of the big screen playing video games?

This year I got games covered throughout all the systems.

Modern Warfare 2 for the PC.

Grand Theft Auto Episodes From Liberty City for the XBOX 360.

God Of War Collection for the Playstation 3.

Nothing for Nintendo Wii because I don’t own one as I never considered it as a gaming console. Although stories of guys who successfully lured women into their caves with the help of the Wii are quite enticing, I know I’m not that desperate.

Modern Warfare 2’s single campaign was pretty fun; with that ‘epic feel’ going on from start to finish. Lots of explosives and lots of shooting people on their faces with modern weaponry that could fill 10 Bruckheimer movies. The multiplayer was even better, but they got nothing compared to Battlefield Bad Company 2. Cannot wait for that game to come out!

GTA Episodes From Liberty City contained the 2 previously released downloadable additional content (the lost and damned + ballad of gay tony) and both episodes were nothing short of spectacular, although having different ‘feel’ and atmosphere to it. It was also cheap, and probably the best deal in gaming for 2009 for how much content it offers yen to yen.

God Of War Collection ports God Of War I & II into HD, and put it into one bluray disk at a low price; how can that be bad? Although an already old game, a good game is a good game, and the HD fix made it compatible with today’s high definition TVs. Cannot wait for God Of War 3!

With all the time I got, I am not very sure whether I could finish all 3 games during this holiday. Hell, I got tons of more games to finish… and I haven’t even opened the plastic wrappings for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 yet!

And I still haven’t finished playing the first one yet!

Plus, both are really, really old games already!

Time, is something that I don’t have.

What's YOUR gaming plan this holiday season?

this weekend 2

friday night the people at work held a welcoming party for the two of us 新人(shin jin - new guy) at this japanese-italian izakaya.

it was not so bad.

when all the 年配の方 (nenpai no kata - old people) left, we held a second party (二次会 - nijikai) just for people in their twenties.

with the big senpais gone, the second party was more relaxed, and i got to talk and had simple games with my new colleagues; which is a great opportunity for bonding.

after the second party, they wanted to go karaoke until morning, but i just had enough for the night.

the other shinjin got so drunk that i think i should take the responsibility to take him home.

well, i always take the drunkards home. always.

the next morning i woke up very late.

then out of the blue, i decided to buy a new car.

so i went to Toyokawa, and then i bought a second-hand Honda Fit.

although the it is not brand new, the condition was very good, and the price was not so bad.

around 470000 yen for everything plus road tax until October of 2010.

it was really a pretty good deal.

i went home and decided to organize my photos using picasa.

the free image software from google is amazing! especially the face recognition tech!

i'm very impressed!

i woke up on the sunday morning with a headache.

and hungry as fuck.

so i went to family mart next door to buy a simple bento.

while i eat my bento, i connected my 47 inch sharp aquos to my nvidia gtx 285 via hdmi so that i could watch おくりびと (Okuribito - Departed) on the big screen.

that movie was simply the best Japanese movie i've watched this year. highly recommended!

then i turned to my ps3 to continue the single player missions in uncharted 2.

i got to this puzzle involving big ass golden 'dagger' thingy and it was freaking cool and all; but i got stuck so i decided to watch cat videos on youtube when i realized that Adilla was online playing mp.

fast forward some messages...

well, she kindly invites me to her party and for the first time i'm playing co-op.

it was super fun.

i mean AARRRR FUNNN!!!

pretty hard though, but i'm glad i played that game.

thanks Adilla.

kalau ada masa, kita main lagi okeh?

damn, tomorrow's work; gotta go to bed early.

良い夢を!

p/s: i noticed that i have totally forgotten my responsibility to the society to post pictures of hot Japanese girls. i would like to apologize by presenting to you some fines from Anri Sugihara:

uncharted 2 getto!

last week i was looking around for a 3d mouse pad in amazon japan, and then i noticed that they're selling pre-orders of uncharted 2 just for 4784 yen.

that's pretty cheap for a new ps3 game.

the first uncharted was probably the best ps3 game that sony had when it launched the ps3, so i expect the second to be at least on par.

i put my order and i received the game just today.

i was pretty skeptical when i opened the amazon envelope; the cover art for the game is hideously ugly and stupid!

i know the game had a reputation of being a 'movie that you play' in japan, but this is just ridiculous.

then i looked at the back cover and were pretty disappointed to know that the game runs in 720p native; why the hell did i bought my 1080p sharp aquos for?

moving on from my geek-rant, i put on the bluray disk and instantly recognized the interface and was pretty impressed with the first opening 'gameplay'.

i'm just about one hour into the game, but my first impression was that the game is exactly like the first one: unoriginal but very interesting.

this IS the japanese version of the game, so it is bilingual, meaning i could play the game in japanese on my second run! i always play my games in english, if the game offers it.

i stopped playing because i wanted to watch music station; HALCALI's performing my new favorite song 今夜はブーギバック (Konya wa Boogie Back). Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsSCiNCpf7A

anyways, i heard the multiplayer component of uncharted 2 was not so bad.

can't wait to check that out.

i hope it's better than japanese AV.

Video Games for 2008 Winter Holiday

Yesterday I got my copy of Peter Molyneux’s latest masterpiece: FABLE 2 for the Xbox 360 and I were stoked to play it right away, but I can’t because I got a party to attend to. So I went to the party, do some eating-while-talking activities, trying to socialize with people; and then got home at around 2000 hours.

I immediately wrap-off the plastic cover of the game, put the disc into the console and played the game until I had a headache that I almost puke at 0330 hour the next morning. Then I went to bed, dreaming about fantasy lands…

It has been a while since I got so hooked onto a videogame, and it is for the proper reason: the game is brilliant.

I loved the first FABLE, and this second installation is far BETTER. I know it is not a perfect game; the combat is fun but kinda clunky, the animation is quite stiff and there were lots of other limitations; but all these negatives were so small compared to how much fun I got from playing it.

You got to utilize swords, guns and magic in combat, engage in quests to further the interesting storylines, own a shop or house to lent to make money, get married and have kids, get a job, be a hero or a jerk to the town and so on.

I’m still far from finishing the main quest, and I intend to fully enjoy the open game world by straying from the guided path by doing random jobs and mini-quests scattered all around across the huge map.

The dog companion was a great addition too! The dog A.I. really makes you feel like you’re adventuring out with the real man’s best friend.

And oh, I forgot to mention that I also got Gears Of War 2 and a Space Invaders T-Shirt along with my Fable 2 order. I need to finish Fable 2 first, and then I’ll take my dirty hands on Gears Of War 2. Those 2 games are basically my “Winter Holiday Games” for the year, and I think I picked a good choice.

What about you? What is your “Winter Holiday Games” this year?

graphic card upgrade !!!

:WARNING: EXTREMELY GEEKY CONTENT:

i am planning to buy a kick-ass gaming rig with all the bells and whistles that the latest technology could offer including 64 bit OSes, multi-core processors, dual-GPUs, EAX 5.0 audio solutions etc.... next year.

i am going to buy those next year, when i move to tokyo for work.

and that leaves me with my 5 years old crappy Pentium 4 computer at the moment, and this is not good because i still want to be able to play the latest games with a decent visual quality in a decent FPS count.

there are tons of amazing games that is coming before i got my new kick-ass gaming rig next year. games like dead space, saints row 2, diablo 3, red alert 3, far cry 2, left 4 dead, CoD: world at war, star craft 2, fallout 3, barbie horse adventure: riding camp... i could go on and on and on!

this year is going to be a great gaming year for pc, and i don't want to miss it.

and that wish is impossible to achieve with my current radeon x1980 pro. the card was a beast once, several years ago. now its just a weak old card not capable of running crysis proper even in low settings.

*^*^*^*^*^*^

i want to still be able to play games, but i am not ready yet to flush big money for a big upgrade; so my only temporary solution is to change my current video card to a better one. it should be reasonably priced, and of course it should be powerful enough for the new games coming this year.

so i went into the cyberspace that some people call the internetssss, to find the solution to my problem, and immediately i could see that the sapphire radeon hd 3850 is my new savior.

a little note here. since i bought my dell dimension 8300 back in 2003, the motherboard is as old as madonna and it only support AGP configuration and single-core processors. i cannot upgrade my processor to intel core 2 duo because of this, so i am only left to find the most powerful AGP card available... since they don't make AGP cards anymore these days. man i wish i had picked a PCI-Express motherboard instead that day in Shinjuku Bic Camera when i purchase the dell... ;(

*^*^*^*^*^*^
the new card cost me 16000 yen, which is right in my budget. as you can see in the picture above, the cooling system used in the hd 3850 (above) is quite similar to the x1980 pro (below).

my old radeon x1980 pro before getting thrown away after years of dedicated and awesome service in satisfying my gaming rage. thanks a lot old dude, now make way for the newcomer !!!

i had no trouble installing the hd 3850. i only need to change to power suppy connector from the 3 pins to 4 pins installation, and i am done.

*^*^*^*^*^*^
after the hardware-part is done, next is the software department. i downloaded the latest catalyst driver from ati and everything went smooth sailing. now for the real test: gaming.

first i loaded up call of duty 4, and it was just fantastic. i was able to play at 1280x960 in high settings with no problems like the hiccups that i would experience with my old radeon x1950 pro. it was brilliant.

then i tried loading stalker clear sky, and i was really satisfied with the quality/performance the the x-ray engine 1.5 is showing on my screen. i've never played stalker this beautiful with such a steady FPS. awesome.

pro evolution soccer 2009 played brilliantly. so does the witcher enhanced edition.

then i tried brothers in arms hell's highway. the minimum spec for this game includes at least a dual-core 2.66 ghz processor, versus my crappy 2.8ghz Pentium 4; and my worst dream (i'm exaggerating here) had come true, although my GPU is powerful enough, my pathetic processor is bottlenecking the whole system, i'm only getting 15-30 FPS throughout my play through.

then i tried crysis warhead, and the result is the same: stutters and poor performance probably because of the pentium 4 bottlenecking everything. although the game is still playable in medium settings, it would really be awesome if i could play in high settings, and experience all the fancy lighting and the advanced particle/shader tech that the game engine has to offer.

well, one cannot hope for EVERYTHING to be great, but it sure would be nice. with that said, i am still pretty satisfied with my purchase, and hopefully the new hd 3850 could hold all the beatings that i am going to give it, before i bought a new gaming rig.

man... i still got ps3 and xbox 360 games that i need to finish... bila nak buat kenkyu?

alpine HDMI earthquake vanilla curry weekend

- It’s Friday 13th .

- The 環境科学 class ended quickly so I went back home to take a shit.

- Checked the mail box: a mail from alpine!

- Damn it, I didn’t get the job! I knew it! The interview had a weird vibe. Who am I kidding? Navigational System Engineers need programmers, not mechanical kids!

- Skip a couple of minutes forward.

- Went to the cafeteria to give the Mongolian girl the longest chocolate bar in Japan.

- Then went to see K. Sensei to inform him about alpine. He was surprised. Then he told me to check out isuzu and tmc.

- Later that day, I did the experiment that I flunked last year. I’ll make sure I did it right this time around; I don’t have another chance.

- Went home, and the MGS4 Hagane PS3 arrived! Woot! I’m so fucking excited!

- Set the sexy thing up, then realized that it didn’t come with a HDMI cable! So I quickly put an urgent order for a 3m HDMI cable from amazon.co.jp.

- While settling with a 480p output, connected to the internet to download some demos. Argh, I hate 480p, it’s ugly. So I turned on my Xbox360 and play Ninja Gaiden 2 instead.

- The next day, I woke up during a HUGE earthquake. Everything in my room was shaking. I had to hold my book cabinet to prevent it from falling.

- It lasted a good 30 seconds. In my mind, I was worrying: Please don’t let my HDTV fall on the brand new PS3!

- Then it went peaceful again.

- Switched on the tv. Every channel is focusing on the earthquake. Where I’m living (Akita), we had a M6+ worth of earthquake, and the neighboring prefecture Iwate got like 7.

- This is pretty heavy stuff. The most that I’ve experienced before is M5 in Nagano. When you thought about the earthquake in china, and what it could do, it get pretty fucking scary; I’m not kidding.

- The next day, the full destruction of the earthquake is unveiled. 250 people got hurt and 9 people died. May their souls rest in peace.

- I also found out that Leah Dizon got a new single. The music video is cute, and if you turn off the sound while watching, it’s better. Leah Dizon never fail to impress me.

.
Online Videos by Veoh.com.

- I also made some hot fiery red curry and bought a new 3-level low shelf to put my PS3 and Xbox 360 in a more tidier fashion next to the HDTV.

- I tried to figure out how to share my media from my computer, to the router and to my PS3, but in vain. It would be very nice to be able to play the Ghost in The Shell: Innocence blu-ray rip movie using the PS3 on my HDTV.

- I'm still waiting for my English version of MGS4 from play-asia.com. Although I have the japanese version of the premium package; I need the English version too because I like David Hayter's voice-over more!

playstation3: to buy or not to buy

decisions, decisions.

the fourth and latest instalment of my favourite gaming series, metal gear solid, is coming out this june. i'm so excited and extremely hyped about the game because i really like the series; been a keen fan from the first game.

the problem is, it's only on the sony playstation 3.

i, don't have a playstation 3.

so i have to buy a playstation 3.

but.

other than metal gear solid 4: guns of the patriots, there is no other ps3 exclusive game that 1. i knew of 2. i want to play 3. is already or coming out in the near future that i'm interested in ; so i'm kinda in a dilemma now. is the ps3 going to be a good investment?

of course it doubles as a decent blu-ray player, and they have just started the blu-ray movie rental service at the local rental shop; which is a very tempting selling point.

console wars sucks, man.

decisions, decisions.

if i were to buy a ps3, i'd surely go all out and buy the special edition, mgs4 premium package. it got everything that a mgs fan would be drooling to get his/her hands on.

arr i wanna play mgs4 !!!

Finished GTA IV !!!

What a satisfyingly long and fun ride! After clocking 32 hours of running around Liberty City doing errands for mafia bosses, russian businessmen and all sort of crooks, while spending some time shooting cops on the face, buying hookers and visiting the local strip club, finally I’ve beaten GTA IV. Well, at least the main story.

After spending some hefty time with the game, I can safely say that this is the best game that I have ever played, ever! GTA IV is the best game of all time and if you haven’t played it yet, do yourself a favour and go play it! It’s simply amazing.

The story, although not the best out there, keeps you interested all the way through and there were some emotional moments that would make you laugh, angry, sad and happy. Each character in the game has their own memorable unique personalities, especially the main character, Niko Bellic. I couldn’t stop mimicking the way he talks and his accents, it’s so cool!

One of the main fun factors of this game is none other the new physics engine. Your environment and surroundings react realistically, the cars are fun to ride, when you bump onto someone, or if you shot someone’s foot with a shotgun, they’ll react like what they’re supposed to in the real world. The developers had created the most realistic representation of our world through the use of their new graphics + physics engine. Nothing is more exciting than driving in a sports car in a high speed police chase, hit-and-running innocent pedestrians while you try to steady the aim of you machine gun to shoot at the coming swat trucks and biker gangs.

The game is chock full of stuff to do. If you don’t want to do the story missions, you could steal any car, find a good spot with a lot of innocent pedestrian, and let loose on a killing spree, shooting at the virtual men and women of Liberty City. Then the cops will come and try to kill you so you must shoot them too. It’s fun.

The amount of effort put into the sound of the game is also amazing. There were lots of radio stations that you could listen in your stolen car. Cars and guns sound real and brutal. You could hear pedestrian talking on their phone. When someone you kill dies a horrible painful death, they will scream a horrible painful death-scream.

This is definitely a very violent game and not suitable at all to kids. If you’re someone who couldn’t take entertainment-violence, this game is not for you. But if you’re like me, who likes some virtual violence in the safety of your own home, a good story, fantastic gameplay, and an overall entertaining time, GO PLAY THIS GAME NOW!

The game fucking ROCKS!

p\s: The game's multiplayer component is wicked fun! You could go online and play with other 15 people and wreck havoc in the Liberty City, playing all-time multiplayer favourites like deathmatch and racing, to unique multiplayer modes like cops and crooks. After finishing the main story, I still am planning to put the disk on my 360 for a long time because whenever I got the time, I'm sure using it to play online multiplayer for some crazy mindless entertainment! Totally worth it!

msaj jobfair ===>

going to tokyo today for a job-fair (they call it career fair) held by the malaysian student accociation japan (msaj). almost all of the participating companies have their own branches in malaysia, and the main purpose of the fair is to give employers the opportunity to recruit fresh graduates to work at their malaysian branches.

it is all about getting malaysian fresh gradutes from japanese universities into their malaysian branches.

i want to work in japan first, so i shouldn't be interested in such a focused career-fair but i want to go there anyways as a 滑り止め (suberi dome - last resort); meaning if by any chance, i didn't get a job from a japanese company based in japan, i'd go for the malaysian branches.

and because this is a last-resort thingy, i really don't have the spirit to be fully prepared. i didn't do much research about any of the participating companies, my resume looks like crap, i got a sore throat after some hardcore karaoke-ing and i didn't practice on any IQ or SPI tests. i just got back from a long date-marathon and i'm still not finished packing my bags for the trip yet; now where the heck did i put that polka-dot boxer?

i'm feeling kinda worthless and disappointed by my own laziness right now, but i just couldn't start to straighten up and be on my best; i'm feeling extreme だるい (darui - feeling of sluggishness).

自分がやる気なければ、会社の人も真剣にお前のことを見ない。覚悟しとけ。就職活動をなめんな!

anyways, to change the subject, video game reviewers all over the world is giving out 10s and 5 stars to the latest gta instalment: grand theft auto IV; and reading and watching all those videos makes me want to play the game so bad!

wanna play the game so bad that even if i were to choose from a simple camisole-wearing [insert you favourite hottie's name here] and the game, i'd choose the game. even if she rips off the camisole, revealing her red slik panties, i'd choose the game. even if she puts some oil on those skins and let me take her pictures with the state of the art slr camera, i'd choose the game. even if she offered to play with my balls while i'm micro-photograping her skin texture, i'd choose the game. even if.... what ever pervertness that a sick, disgusting, perverted mind could think of, i'd choose the game. do you see how powerful the hype of the game is?

look! i haven't even played the game yet but it has already affected me in a good way; that is it has made me want to choose the option that is not perverted instead of the perverted ones! wow what an awesome game! i could image myself being more pious, well mannered and more polite when i got the game. it must be!

29hb 4 2008

it's the 29th of april 2008, marking the launch of one of the most anticipated games of all time; grand theft auto IV. i've never been this excited for a game release since half-life 2!

i pre-ordered the game months before and i just got confirmation that they just shipped it from the store, going right into my mailbox. i just can't wait to get my hands on this game; the wait is simply killing me!

although i've only finished gtaIII, played half through gta vice city and almost completed gta san andreas, i knew that this is going to be the best gta game yet!

new shooting mechanism, new physics engine with the amazing euphoria technology, liberty city setting with more detail and realism, beautiful graphics, awesome character and storylines; the list of good things to come from this game is getting me all worked up to play.

the new multiplayer gameplay looks totally fun too!

come on sweet little game, come to papa! my xbox360 needs some working up to do!

sepuluh hari bulan empat

i do my shopping for new clothes only once or twice a year, and i chose today to buy some new clothes because suddenly i got bored of the adidas jumper that i've been wearing for the past 4 years.

i bought a blue jacket and a long sleeve shirt. i don't really care about fashion, but i believe in dressing decently. i think the shirt matched the jacket well enough. i don't buy any pants because i got more than i needed; plus i bought a new levis jeans last year, and that should last me another 2-4 years.

on the way back, i got stopped by (again!) christian missionaries! and this time, they're americans! they said they're not from the jehovah witness church, but some other church that i don't remember the name. i don't know what is wrong with these christian missionaries; they are very friendly at first but when i said that i'm a muslim, the 'friendly' expression on their faces changed into 'troubled'.

they got nothing to worry about because i forgot to bring my bomb-strapped-jacket along.

but it got me thinking; why are there so many christian missionaries here in akita? when i was in nagano, i never met these people. maybe these missionaries are attracted to the 3 things that are famous in akita: the komachi rice, the komachi sake and the akita bijin (美人-pretty girls). looks like the christian youth, just like the muslim youth, are also horny to fuck?!

hahaha i'm just kidding. being horny to fuck got nothing to do with any religion. it's a natural thing.

maah, forget about that; what is more important is that i got my xbox360 back from the repair shop; and it's all free of charge! fuck yeah! now i can get my game on again! i already ordered condemned: bloodshot; can't wait to play that and be spooked out of my mind!

last week i ate udon. then i took the picture below at a 100yen shop.

lastly, to end this totally random post; a peaceful picture of aragaki yui being trapped inside a shower of artificial rain. she should do more stuff like this. so sweet, so relaxing.

diari hari ini

Tengah hari tadi macam biasa la, pegi marudai cari bento. Mcam ni la kehidupan aku skang, hidup bergantung kepada bento aje, nak masak sendiri malas plak hehe. Masuk2 marudai, terus pegi bento corner, ambik shake (salmon) bento 398 yen, terus gi kaunter nak bayar.

Time tengah beratur tuh, aku tengok sekeliling; mata menjalar kearah kaunter2 lain, kiri kanan. Mak aih, customer lain sumer nya suri rumah tangga, sumer tengah shopping untuk masak malam la kot. Penuh satu shopping basket ngan ikan la, sayur la, buah-buahan la. さすが主婦!

Customer yg kat depan aku nih, punya la stylo berpakaian, ngan low-cut denim + mid-high heels; tapi dondong anak kat belakang mcam pikul beg skolah. Dia beli daging babi brapa pack ah, pastu tisu tandas, kubis pastu apa lagi ah.

Adoih bosan sungguh aku menunggu in-line masa time suri rumah ramai nih. Diaorg nih memang beli banyak gila. Time sampai giliran, aku ternampak plak kat corner depan pintu masuk tuh ada satu corner baru; jual sotong padat! Terus aku kagum: kat jepun pon ada jual gak ke sotong padat nih?! Terus aku keluar line, kaki melangkah laju aje ke corner yg mcam menarik tuh.

100 yen sebijik? Wah lai mahal nya! Tapi kalo tengok rupa, pastu aroma nya, memang sebijik mcam sotong padat kat mesia la. Cuma sotong yg diaorg pakai nih nampak lagi kembung. Ish ni tak leh jadi nih. Kena cuba try makan nih!!!

Dengan perasaan berdebar2 aku check ingredients yg terpampang kat promotion board tuh. Fuhh selamat! Takde pakai bahan2 halal! So apa lagi, terus aku ambik seketul, pastu terus gi beratur balik dalam line. Adoih kena tunggu lagi. Kali nih customer depan aku sorang makcik tua plak.

Tapi nasib baik sebab dia beli sos tiram ngan garam aje. Nampak gaya nya, makcik nih tgh masak kot, pastu baru sedar dia takde sos tiram ngan garam, so terus dia tergesa2 datang tanpa sedar yg dia tak tanggalkan lagi apron.

Urusan dah abis, terus menuju ke basikal. Wooh! Org yg parking beskal dia sebelah beskal aku letak anjing plak dalam raga. Kecik nak mampos anjing tuh, kalo aku sepak ngan kaki kiri pon bole terbang sampai Hulu Langat. Aku tarik basikal aku slow2, tak nak kejutkan anjing yg tengah tido. Geram nak sepak.

Balik2 bilik, terus letak sotong padat yg aku beli tadi atas cutting board. Belah dua. Cium bau. Hmm bau memang sebijik mcam mesia punya. Letak dalam mulut. !!!. Rasa pon sama siot! Cuma dia letak nasi jepun aje. Kalo yg mesia punya, letak pulut. Hmm… aku rasa version mesia lagi sedap kot, sebab rasa pulut tu lagi kuat.

Pastu aku buka monitor computer. Hmm drama LOST episode 7 dah siap download. So aku tgk la episode nih sambil makan bento. Gilak ah best gila episode kali nih! Memang tak sia2 aku download version HD punya. 1GB untuk satu episode tuh. LOST season 4 nih memang best. Aku rasa season yg paling best kot dlam banyak2 season dia selama nih.

Tiba2 dapat email drpd prof research lab. Waah dapat kerja plak! Kena siapkan sebelum 27hb nih. Hari ni 22hb… sempat kot buat. Kerja nya simple aje: Translate thesis yg foreign researcher buat, daripada English ke Japanese. Simple tapi memang memakan masa yg lama sebab nuance bahasa jepun ngan bahasa inggeris nih lain, so kena hati2 time translate. 面倒くせぇ!

Lepas abis tgk LOST, pasang Xbox 360 plak. Nak sambung main The Darkness. Tapi timbul satu masalah besar. Xbox aku kena penyakit The Ring of Death! Pastu freeze. Terus tak leh main !!! Arrghhh !!! Haish, nampak gaya nya… kena la aku beli PS3 hahahaha !!! Nanti beli la PS3 bila Grand Theft Auto 4 kuar. Tak sabar wooh. Xbox aku bole pegi mampos hahaha! Hmm… nanti ah anta kedai servis. Harap2 dia tak kena charge baiki. Siot tul la Microsoft, buat hardware asyik ada fault jeh. Software pon sama.

Sebab takleh main game, aku pasang movie plak. JUMPER. Mcam best aje. Trailer mcam best, so memang aku excited gila. Tapi malang sekali. Movie nih tak best gila. Cerita hancur. Lakonan lagi la teruk. Takde focus atau pon narration yg lurus. Progression diantara scene bercelaru. CGI ngan action scenes pon mediocre aje. Sungguh aku hampa.

Tup tap tup tap, dah pukul 9 malam. Dlm pkl 9:30, dak2 nih kumpul kat kaikan nak bawak kohai (junior) yg baru datang daripada mesia makan kat marumatsu. Kohai belanja, so kena la ikut hehehe. Perut aku masih kenyang lagi drpd makan bento tadi, so aku makan tempura soba aje. Simple. Terima kasih kohai2 yg baru datang; even though aku tak ingat lagi nama korang. Selamat Datang ke Akita.

Balik bilik, check email. Antara kandungan email2 aku yg menarik sket nak citer:

1) Awek Romania nih ejek aku ‘small penis’. Ces. Tapi aku tipu cakap yg aku ni org jepun time aku mula2 start email ngan dia. Memang patut la dia ejek aku mcam tu; org jepun nih besar mana la yeh.... Ntah2 dia pon tipu gak. Ntah2 dia bukan nya awek umur 24 tahun, tapi pakcik European tua kutuk berjanggut suka child pornography.

2) Mamat Nigeria, dia cakap dia umur 25 tahun, tegap, nice body pastu have a nice smile; dia cakap nak kawan. Hahahahahaha gila gay nak mampos! Cuak siot. Terus delete, ban and sayonara forever hahaha!

Abis check email pastu ngarut2 kat social networking sites, rasa nak buat assignment tadi plak. Tapi dah lewat nih. Baik aku tido. Tapi sebelum tido, tulis blog dulu hahaha. Start esok, bangun awal, pastu focus buat assignment. Okeh. Itu mission aku !

new TV !!!

at last, i got a new hi-def tv! at 70000 yen, this sharp aquos 32inch LCD TV is the best-valued LCD TV out there; well at least in japan. i bought this bigger, better tv because i was simply bored with my 4-years-old 14inch CRT TV (image above). it was time to upgrade into something that's future proof; into the high definition broadcasting era! although i'm quite late, i'm glad i made it.

with the small space in my current room, the tv looks huge and watching it for the first time is quite overwhelming. maybe for the size of my current room, a 26inch tv would be enough; but i'm moving to a new, bigger apartment this april so i just have to be patient and be 'overwhelmed' for another month.

so like every new electronics that i have spent my (read: malaysian tax payer's) money on, i did some testing to see whether it was a good deal or not . first, watching Digital TV Broadcasting of course! the factory setting for the tv is too bright for my taste so after fine-tuning and playing around with the software settings, i was more than satisfied with the superb picture quality. comparing a normal analog broadcasting with a digital one is like comparing the ps1 to the ps3: the bump in quality is HUGE! you can even see pores and lots of other visual imperfections of tv personalities that you can't see before with a CRT (analog) TV. i think malaysian tv stations should start broadcasting HD content as soon as possible; it's amazing!

this TV produces one of the best black colour on a HD TV ever! black is very deep and ghosting is very minimal although still noticeable if you look hard enough. the factory settings tend to make the skin tones a bit reddish too, but that can be easily fixed with software settings. to make it short, the picture quality from digital broadcasting is superb and i really can't ask for more at this cheap price range. the colour is very vibrant and vivd although i think the speaker lacks the 'umph' when compared to my computer's 5.1 speakers. actually, the worst thing about this tv is the speakers, it's quite 'murky'.

next, connection to the xbox 360. although this aquos does not support 1080p, it still look brilliant and sharp at 720p. well, a human eye can't really tell the difference between 720p and 1080i when comparing between two 32 inch HDTV at those respective resolutions anyways, so it's not really a big deal. you are only going to see a significant difference when the size of the tv is 40 inch and up.

when playing video games, the most concerning aspects of a HDTV is the response time; and this TV performed quite well. of course today's HDTV still can't beat the speed of a traditional CRT TV, but it's getting better and better and this aquos has proven to be a firm proof of that progress. i tried this with the new devil may cry 4; a very fast game that rely on fast button response and i have to say, i have not noticed any lag or what so ever. brilliant! but still, it's not even close to a CRT TV response time but i'll get used to it. so for the hardcore gamers, this tv is probably not the best tv for you. try the new samsung gaming tv instead, IF you have the extra dough.

lastly, i tested the TV as a second monitor for my computer. out of the three connections, this one looks the murkier and NOT as awesome; but of course it depends on the video source itself. you won't get crystal clear video when it's a 800x600 video! HD content still looks awesome though, but not the best that i've ever seen.

at first i got a bit confused with the automotive image stretching functions the tv used to handle videos with unconventional resolutions and size ratios; but using the media player classic has proven to solve many of the head scratching problems. now i can watch lost episode 4 with a bigger picture! then i tried watching 300 (hd-dvd version) and spiderman 3 (blu-ray version) and the picture quality is just amazing. holy shit. now i want all of my movies to be in native blu-ray quality! i almost got a video orgasm.

then i tried playing computer games with the tv, but i still couldn't figure out how to bump up the resolution to 1280p. both my graphic card and the TV support resolution higher than that, but i just can't make it work. so more research to do!

all in all, this is not the best LCD HDTV out there, but it sure has the best bang for the buck. or yen. at this price range, this is the best high definiton-capable LCD HDTV anyone could get. the picture quality is superb (digital tv broadcasting being the best, computer monitor being the last of the 3) although the audio is lacking. a very good product (considering the cheap price tag) from sharp and in the end, i have become another satisfied customer.

george lucas! give us star wars in blu-ray !!!

November the 11th

so i have a question: have you ever woke up in the morning, feeling the soft breeze of morning air, while your skin rejoice the warm morning sunlight, and then you said to yourself, " hey ! i wanna be a fucking veggie ! "? that happened to me last saturday ( 11th of november ).

it was like any other ordinary saturday morning, i woke up at about 9 a.m. and found out that i had dry semen in my pajama pants. man these wet dreams are crazy, i can't control them anymore! i used to knew really well how my body works sexually but this is just too much, too messy. i guess i should reduce watching documentaries about monkeys having sex. i also think that by turning into a vegetarian, i'll have more wet dreams without being messy at the end, which is nice; but i'll talk about my wet-dream-on-a-basis topic next time ladies.

so i took a nice warm bath. turned on the tv for some recent news. oh not again ! another japanese kid, this time from saitama, committed suicide because he can't stand being bullied in school. he's just 11 years old. how sad. for those who didn't know, the current ' boom ' in japan right now is helpless elementary/junior high school students committing suicide because they're being bullied at school; but the management people from the school won't acknowledge the fact that bullying did exist in their school, just for the sake of protecting the school's good image.

japan is already famous with it's weird suicidal people but kids being infected by this horrible ' virus ' is very new and worrying because japanese live longer, yet having fewer children resulting a shrinking workforce that could choke even the world's second economy power. japanese people work very hard because they think that by having wealth, they would be happy. but they are not always right. although japan is a very wealthy country, it seems that they're not so happy. social pressure seem to be the biggest problem here because the japanese really care about their image, making them always restraining themself in every action taken in their society. wait a minute, i'm kind of lost here so let's skip this topic hehe.

so noverber the 11th is also the day sony launched it's next generation game console: the ps3 in japan, going head to head with rival company microsoft with their xbox 360 and nintendo with their very different wii. ps3 with the revolutionary CELL; a super microprocessor developed in a joint effort by IBM, Sony and Toshiba ( which is ironic because Sony is in a deathmatch with Toshiba over the battle between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray ); is the giant japanese company's only hope to recover their broken image after some incidents that tarnished it's image ( laptop battery overheat resulting fire, lost in portable music market to Apple, intrusive virus-like cd-copying security etc. ).

the 20gb version of ps3 is sold at a very steep price ( at least for a game console ) at 49850 yen; and don't be surprised when i told you that the production cost of one ps3 is more that the street price, at about 70000 yen !!! although sony lost about 20000 yen every ps3 sold, they are hoping to recover the deficit with it's software sale and licensing. they did the same thing with the ps2, and they have been churning HUGE profits just after 2 years in it's life cycle and have been conquering almost 60% of the game console market. microsoft did the same thing when it launched it's first gaming console, the xbox, so that it's more competitively-priced, but failed to gain any profit and turn a red check into a blue one. but xbox is not a total failure because it has stolen at least 20% of the market share once dominated by nintendo and sony, and that's a success story for a rookie in this competitive business. and microsoft has used that market it gained during the last-gen period to set foot their next and MUCH better game console: xbox360. launching 1 year earlier than sony and nintendo, robust and proven LIVE! network of online gaming, reasonable pricing and great exclusive titles ( gears of war, halo 3 etc. ); all these positive traits from the software company has denied easy entry for sony this time around.

although ps3 is surely a bleeding edge high-tech machine that every single male ( the female gamer is increasing everyday though ) wants their hands on, sony has been messing around with their production line, unable to deliver their promise to have 2million units ready at launch. they're only launching with 100000 units in japan ( an another 400000 units for northern america come this 17th november ) ! that's 1/10 of what they have delivered during the ps2 launch, and that machine was sold out just minutes after launch ! the japanese gamers are sure desperate enough to have the ps3 at launch that they pay chinese homeless people 20000 yen to wait in line for them to buy the ps3 when the store opens at launch day.

i'm no analyst, but i predict in the end of the life cycle of these 3 game consoles, the market share this time won't be conquered by sony anymore. it's going to be like ps3 38%, xbox 32% and wii 30%. and that could be another way around because this round of console wars is very competitive and unpredictable. i'll watch with much anticipation. i want a ps3 and xbox 360 though. what about the wii ? meeh the wii is for kiddies and casual gamers. i'm a true gamer so ps3 and xbox 360 is the way to go, at least for me.

so i would like to end this today's long post. and yeah about me being vegetarian, i give up on the fourth day. it's been fun but oh my god i can't live without meat ! but to think about it again, i've done more than i thought i couldn't.

Tokyo Game Show 2006 : My First Impression

So yesterday i went to the annually held and currently the biggest game show in the world (after E3 was scaled down) : Tokyo Game Show and i HAVE to write something about it. Just a quick first impression and my thoughts about the games. GAMES ONLY. I’ll write about everything else when I feel like it.

ok. there were a LOT of nerds. and they stink. My first ps3 game that I tried is Coded Arms Assault from Konami. Man this game sucks. The graphics are not that impressive and the gameplay is soo mediocre. The frame rate is bad and it has a lot of jaggies. Even IF it has great graphics I don’t think this game would be good because the gameplay is lower that the average current gen FPS out there. Very disappointing.

Next: Dead or Alive Extreme 2. I have to cut lines in front of a bald, old Japanese nerd to play this and he can’t even have the guts to say something at me. Hahaha geeks. Anyways, the graphics are good, colorful and the 3d models look great. The graphic is solid but still not impressive enough. Now on to the gameplay. Beach volley ball is harder than I though. Jet Ski is fun. Other mini-games are fun and cute especially the Butt-Sumo. Now that’s how game developers should do with game-babes.

Next: Lost Planet. Man this game is GOOD. The graphic is very nice with the motion blur and everything and the animation is solid too. I only played the multiplayer portion of the demo and it looks like capcom is doing a very good job at that department. Now that’s one good Xbox360 game.

Next: Heavenly Sword and Genji. I only just watched some guy play. OMG the graphics are amazing and the gameplay is fun. Heavenly Sword really reminds me of God of War and I personally think that it’s better than God of War. On the other hand, Genji reminds me of onimusha goodness and the graphics is just BEAUTIFUL. Medieval japan never looked this good.

Next: Warhawk. I have to wait for 1 hour in line to play this game. This game utilizes the 6 axis motion sensor in the ps3 controller when flying the many air vehicles and I have to say that I’m quite disappointed with the controls. Maybe I’m just not used to the new controls but it’s just hard to stay on target and actually hit it. It’s really weird and intuitive in the same time too and I guess I just have to spend more time with it to get used to the new controls. And oh, the graphics are…. OK. Not bad and not too impressive too.

Next: Virtua Fighter 5. This game is absolutely stunningly beautiful ! I got to play one of the 2 new characters (Eileen with her monkey fighting style) and well, maybe I'm still not used to playing her so i got beaten up by this other guy that I'm playing with. I guess they don't change the gameplay much because it feels just like Virtua Fighter 4 and that's a good thing because Virtua Fighter 4 is one of the best 3D fighting game out there. Solid gameplay, solid graphics.

Next: Resistance Fall of Man. Watched some Japanese kid played this. Oh yeah the graphics are GOOD ! Very nice. The game play is fun too especially the GUNS !!! it rocks !!! I don’t know why but I think this is going to be a very good FPS for the ps3. The guys who made rachet and clank really have done a great job. Can’t wait to play this!

Next: Lair. I watched it while it’s being played. Wow. My biggest disappointment at the show. They say the graphic are going to blow people away but I think it just sucks real hard. Jaggies. Jaggies. Jaggies. The texture looks bland. Very bad graphics for a much-hyped ps3 game. But the gameplay is another story. Just like Warhawk, it utilizes the ps3s’ six axis motion sensors to fly the ‘dragons’ and it makes it easier to handle it during flight. The gameplay is okay but damn I was disappointed with the graphics.

Next: Cell Factor. A FPS for windows that fully utilizes Aegia’s new physics engine. Wow physics make my eyes bleed. Never have I saw such gaming physics greatness in my life. You can pick up hundreds of stuff with your psi powers and throw it at your enemies with great speed and force. Best physics engine I have ever seen.

Next: Some small games I don’t remember. I don’t know. I don’t remember. I don’t care.

NEXT: WOOOOOTTT !!!! DEVIL MAY CRY 4 !!!! The first game that I want to play is this game, but unfortunately the wait line is 3 hours !!! So just settled with watching someone lucky bastards play the demo. Damn the graphics are just amazing. This is THE game that screams: NEXT GEN !!!. Everything looks absolutely gorgeous and beautiful. Monster killing has never been more beautiful than this. And the gameplay is just purely Devil May Cry good. It’s fast, hectic and FUN. WOW. I’m totally blown away by this game. Argh I want to play Devil May Cry !!!! Dante is not the main character anymore but still playable. The main character is now Nero, that looks and dresses pretty much like Dante but he's even cooler than the ever over-the-top master of cheezy lines, Dante. His right (or left?) arm has this wicked, cool looking lines of glare to it and acts as a new power system (I'm guessing) that they're are trying to bring to the newest installement to this great series. Nero can lauch sick, stylish power moves with that arm and it look very good and fits very nicely with the Devil May Cry universe; oh how many times do I have to tell you that I can't wait to get my hands on this new mechanic !

I guess that’s it for now. Metal gear solid 4 was not playable but being able to see Devil May Cry 4 is pretty much worth the trip. This year’s TGS is really about the ps3. Although I know that the ps3 is a beast, I don’t really think the launch games are going to make me want to make a purchase during launch. I’m going to get my ps3 only when Devil May Cry 4 or Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out.

On the other hand, Xbox360 is looking good with it’s 2nd year titles that’s coming out and I’m really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I don’t get to see Gears of War and Lost Odyssey because I…. forgot to. And Nintendo Wii is unplayable to the visitors. We only get to see Nintendo models is weird outfits play sonic and other wii games using the wii-mote. Oh well, in conclusion, this year’s TGS is slightly better than last year because I got to actually play the ps3. Next-gen gaming is sure making me very excited. If only I can get myself more excited in my studies then in gaming…….

yay its EXAM !!!

I know its exam when I woke up in the morning feeling dizzy and there’s this sickening taste in my throat, I feel like puking on my books because I didn’t sleep well last night, studying like hell and I know its exam when the air stinks and the clouds look like the middle finger and the birds don’t chirp anymore. Everyone looks like a fucking zombie and I started not giving a shit about anyone. Even if Nagasawa Masami, Manabe Kaori and Abe Natsumi; all three of them, were naked in my bed, touching themselves and asked me to join them, I would not even respond. It’s because of exam. Exam killed my orgy party, so exam is evil. Well, I probably would finger-fuck them all but only for a minute or two, then I have to go back to my studies.

Actually today is the second day of my semester exam. So far, so good. got 1 more day for this week and another 3 for the week after. Almost every time during examination period, i wrote shitty things about my performance but strangely, i think I’m doing pretty well this time. At least for now, and that's a good thing !

So because i haven't fucked up any of my precious papers, i have decided. I’m going to tokyo game show 2006 this 23rd September, and that's 2 days from today !!! woot i can't wait to try out the ps3. ps3 games rock! DMC4, Virtua Fighter, Metal Gear, Tekken, Heavenly Sword and a whole lot more. I will try to get my hands on every game but that’s just humanly impossible so I’m going to focus on Devil May Cry, Virtua Fighter, Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid, Resistance Fall of Men, Warhawk, and Lair. There are other great Xbox360 games also that I’m surely going to check out like DoA Extreme, Lost Planet, Gears of War and Winning Eleven. Nintendo wii looks pretty awesome too but unfortunately it's unplayable at the show. I really want to see how the control on the new Zelda and Red Steel works. And that’s really the only games that I cared on the wii. Everything else looks pretty much gimmicky to me. And gay too.

Not to be forgotten: booth babes and cosplay ! just like last year, this year’s event are sure to attract cosplayers from all part of japan and I can’t visualize what kind of creepiness, cuteness, and strangeness I’m going to encounter; and I’m sure bringing along my new video camera ;). How much skin will the Microsoft booth babes show this year to attract Japanese gamers to their slowly dying xbox360? We’ll see.

I guess that’s enough for today. I’m going to sleep. Got to… get… energy… zzzz…. *put*put*put* oops sorry.
