i went to a maid cafe today!

i've always wanted to go to a maid cafe and see for myself what the fuss is all about.

and at last, today i got the chance to go to one such fantasy land when my co-workers volunteered to show me the most famous maid cafe in akihabara, @homecafe.

i was pretty excited.

and a bit surprised at how expensive it was compared to what service they offer.

the entrance fee itself is 700 yen, and you can't even take any photos inside the cafe.

anyways, upon entering the cafe, 5 japanese girls dressed in french inspired maid costumes greeted us with the greeting 「いらっしゃいませ、ご主人様!」 which means 'Welcome Back Home, Master!'.

it was pretty weird actually, to see so much concentration of nerds and cute girls in maid costumes cramped in such a small space.

*BGM played inside the cafe are of the anime songs collection, all the time, of course.

i ordered the omelette special menu that comes with caramel latte and the opportunity to take a picture with a maid of my choice.

the silly but cute thing about my omelette is the additional 'moe performance': the serving maid, using ketchup, drew hello kitty on the omelette... while saying 'magic words' to 'cast delicious spell' on it. then she asked me to cast the spell with her, which is the silliest thing ever, but so fucking cute nonetheless!

anyways, i think maid cafes are not bad at all, although it IS quite weird; and having entered one, i've definitely came closer in understanding the 'moe' culture of the otakus.

akane-chan kawaii !!!

End Year Travels D03

We plan to spend our third day in Akihabara and visit maid cafes and what not, but waking up really late doesn’t help our noble cause, and it winded up screwing with our plans.

We also plan to purchase our bus tickets to Toyohashi today, but that plan didn’t go well too because it was almost impossible to get bus tickets on the same day during these holiday seasons.

That was pretty dumb; I don’t remember myself being so over-reliant on things to magically happen even if I don't plan it well with a conscious mind.

So the only way to Toyohashi is by train, and that didn't sound good because we know that there is a LOT of Japanese people in Japan, and they are also going to ride the same train with us; just to annoy us.

We were in Shinjuku at the time while we knew that the bus tickets will be impossible to get; and then we realized that we still haven’t eaten anything that morning, so we decided to go to this Pakistani restaurant: Karachi to have our breakfast + lunch.

The place is pretty famous among Malaysian students and I remember us making a HUGE crowd by eating at the restaurant after Jumaah prayers together ramai-ramai.

For 1000yen, the all-you-can-eat system is pretty awesome. I got to eat rice with nan and a couple of chiken tikkas, chai, lassi, salad, corn soup etc. It was not the best meal ever, but it was definitely worth the money.

With our bellies full, we went straight to the Shinjuku Eki to get on our train, and it was packed full of people. It was pretty uncomfortable because it was a pretty long ride and we have to stand among all these people and it was hot and everyone seems to smell like salt.

Smelly salt.

I didn’t consider it a pleasent experience; that is why I don’t take any pictures.

Anyways, we arrived at Toyohashi Station at about 1800 hours and it was already dark. Sonn came with his type-R to pick us up from the station to his place.

As I walk into Sonn’s place, I could hear voices and laughers of familiar people.

I was surprised to see several of my old buddies from our ISI days being cramped up in front of the tv playing their winning eleven on the ps2.

It was the gathering of the guys from Toyohashi Univ, Saga Univ and Akita Univ; everyone from the same ISI batch. It was such a long time since I’ve seen these guys that I was dumbfounded by everything; it felt kinda unreal.

You know how it's like when you don't see someone for a long time, and then suddenly they were there in front of you; your brain needs to recalibrate and breathe a little to realize that all of it is real and you better thank god for this moment.

Tapek, Wak, Sonn, Ilzam, Razmi, Pak Lan, Daim, Apis and the two girls Uya and Yanti were all sitting in one cramped space. I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of Malays that I could found that night in one room. What a rare occasion.

Later that night, we went to the nearest Joyfull (another family restaurant chain that was supposed to be common on there areas. They don’t have it back in Akita) to have our dinner.

I ordered a simple saba yaki set and it was pretty good; or maybe just because I was dog tired and hungry?

We chat and chat and chat and I don’t know how I got a cat moniker in the end, thanks to the creative minds of Pak Lan.

It was a pretty tiring day, but I don’t want to sleep in Sonn’s place because it was already crammed up with people; so I made a brilliant escape to Apis’s place and take shelter there.

I slept like a baby that night.

year end winter break

I’ll be away for a while for winter holiday.

Tomorrow I will be attending the Malaysian Night held by MSAJ at Chofu; the next day would be spent at Ekoda, Nerima to reminisce the old times and perhaps I might take a quick visit to the Japanese language school that I used to attend to in Okubo too.

Wow, I have no grasp of my own grammar; and don’t care about correcting it because I got little time to do that. I’m busy packing stuff for the trip.

Anyways, today I got a mail from my (future) company.

Along with some documents and contracts, they also sent me a nice calendar, a self-help book on working in a company… and a manicured fake nail, probably it fell into the mail package when the human resource lady was preparing the mail for me (third picture).

I’ll be off to Tokyo tonight. I'm sure I'm going to take some photos and write about it.

Time kat Tokyo nanti, Zarul ajak pegi maid café kat Akihabara. Takkan aku nak tolak kan? Kalo bole, nak cari maid massage skali. Maid korek teliga pon mcam best.

Hehehehe.

Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to everyone!

May you have a great one!

testing spoiler script

i've found this very neat script to enable 'spoiler' functions in blogger, just like in the forums. this will be an experimental post to test the script. if this handy script works, i might be able to 'brighten' up each of my post with a new idea that i have. :)

If you could see this picture and this text ONLY after clicking the link, then this script is valid and very useable. I'm thinking about posting at least one picture that could please your eyes in each post, but I don't want to be too intrusive about it.

Anyways, this is the ever brilliant Nozomi Sasaki in a school uniform posing in a figure shop in Akihabara. I hope it pleases you eyes thus achieving my objective of applying this new script.

have undies, the otakus will follow

Every Sunday, the street of akihabara is closed to vehicles to allow pedestrians the much needed breathing space to fully enjoy shopping and sight seeing in the famous ‘Electric Town’ of Tokyo. The empty space provided also gave certain people certain opportunities: cosplayers to show-off their latest anime costumes, wanna-be singers to promote their self-fund cds, street performers to show-off their skills, café attendants dressed in French maid costume to promote their café, and also gravure idols to show some skin for the sake of promoting their latest work.

And no gravure idol is as crazy as asuka sawamoto (沢本あすか), who has caused quite a stir in the otaku community when she went to the street, lift up her skirt and let hundreds of perverts took pictures of her undies. After the her outrageous 'performance', she climbed down the railings to give out flyers to promote her next gig.

Apparently, these perverts were called 'low-anglers' (ローアングラー), because they only took pictures from low angles; and it's the latest 'trend' in akihabara among fans of japanese 'small-time' idols. And all of this happened on a public road, and can be seen by everyone including children passing by.

. .

What a way to enflame a discussion about how far could freedom of expression and morality go along. Every time she did this, hundreds of low-anglers would flood the streets and with their mobile phones and some, expensive SLR cameras, took pictures of her in ‘funny’ positions and angles.

This being Japan, the police did nothing (because the police are also perverts); well at least until a tv program made a story about it. Eventually, she got caught and charged with public disturbance (迷惑防止条例違反) and to the dismay of her ‘fans’, it was revealed that she was actually 31 years old, 10 years older than what she told the press.

So now the underground Japanese bbs were filled with otaku jokes about how stupid they are, chasing a slutty obasan around with their mobile phones. More pics here .<--- click the link for a more detailed story (japanese).

Talking about such pervertness is always fun, but this time, it’s so over the top that I can’t even make one joke. Sometimes, akihabara is just too much. Remember, she was caught not because of her shameless performance, but of what she had encouraged: that is making huge crowds that disturbed other pedestrian and the flow of traffic.

Man, what a crazy place. Akihabara, enough is enough!

my video got banned!

after receiving more than 20000 views, my [warning to namewee] video got flagged inappropriate and violating the youtube terms; so the youtube censor team deleted the damned video because they fear it could corrupt the young minds of malaysians and cause everyone to go on a naked streak and eat monkey brains for lunch and bullshit for dinner.

i don't think the person who flagged the video read the descriptions i wrote on the right side of the video; and that dumb and ignorant habit might have caused a little misunderstanding in his/her part.

well, whatever. i DO plan to delete that video myself at a later convenient time but it feels not right to be slapped on the face and being told " your video is no good in here !!! " by a communist-minded site like youtube where you were not given a chance to defend yourself. anyways, how the hell do the censor team conclude that the video was violating youtube's terms by being inappropriate? they don't understand malay! i guess this is how they do it:

censor guy a: hey look, this video got flagged! let's check it out!
censor guy b: *looks at screenshot* oh my god! i see 4 ninjas! this is awesome!

censor guy a: *plays video* hmm what the hell! this is not in a language that we could understand! they could be talking about buiding a pretty barbie doll house with pink wallpapers and glamorous chandeliers for all i care. not forgetting the king size bed; for ken is a vicious sexy man that wants to practice his love making technique on plastic vaginas. plastic virgin vaginas. oh yeah.

censor guy b: but look, they look muslim enough to me. evil muslims. and do i hear someone yelling allah in the background? god they're sending a message to kill us americans because we are so awesome! ban ! ban ! ban !
censor guy a: don't you think the video poster deserve to explain himself?
censor guy b: are you out of your mind? this is america. we have freedom of speech! of course we are going to ban him because out of the 20000 people who viewed the video, one person flagged it! we must support the minority!
miss teen usa: i personally believe, those 4 guys in the video, such as, is dumber than me.
censor guy a + b: lets agree with the miss teen usa because she is hot. ban the sucker!
evil google representative: yes... yes... my dirty little dogs... do as i say... oh yeah...

enough with that. right now i'm still in tokyo having a good time. i'm doing my best to fill my time with activities that could sculpt me into being a better person. like ogling at gothic lolitas at harajuku, maid cafe employees at akihabara and kireina oneesan at shibuya. 俺の嫌いなギャルもいっぱいおったけどな

きれいなお姉さん好き?

went to akihabara. found some cool shops. also found a new halal restaurant. another pakistani restaurant: siddique. cool place. nice curry. and cheap too. on my way to the train station, i saw a duo singer performing on the streets. the other girl (right side on the picture) is absolutely kawaii !!! i had my moe moe moment there that i forgot to record their video performing. what about the picture with the pink-wearing girls in it? oh they were just giving out tissues with ads on it, promoting their new stewardess-cafe. after maid, then shidou, now stewardess??? i should try and go to these otaku-cafes someday.

NEXT: REVIEWS !!! OLE OLE OLE !!!

The Simpsons Movie – 9.1

Matt Groening did it. They have delivered the hype and went over the insanely high expectations. An extremely entertaining movie with a lot of good-‘ol simpsons humour. Highly recommended! Very fun movie to watch with your simpsons-fan buddies.

Déjà Vu – 8.0

What seems to be a normal homicide movie got an instant science fiction shot that makes everything cool and entertaining. Danzel Washinton does not disappoint. Cool story with great twists and superb ending. Must watch.

13 Erotic Ghosts – 3.0

What a crap movie. Avoid at any costs. Well, unless you want to see blond twins doing some hot softcore action on the bed, just forget about this movie and go on living with your life.

Mr. Bean Holiday (HD-DVD Version)– 7.5

I begin watching this movie expecting it to suck but I was really surprised at how NOT bad it was. This is still the Mr. Bean we all used to know when we were little brats. Looks like Mr. Bean is still compatible with today’s generation.

arrived in front of the tokyo cental post office at 6:15. got no other place to go so went to a internet/manga cafe in shibuya: maboo. very cheap 1500yen for 3 hours. took a shower, read some manga and checked some emails. after my time is up, went out into the streets of shibuya, walking around with no purpose. at 11:00 a.m. went to kani cha-han for lunch. good stuff. after fulling my stomach with aromatic happiness, i went to akihabara to do some price surveying. after that, went to shinjuku to meet sae to 'guide' him to shinagawa and to our host for the night: my perasan macho senpai zam.

Next: REVIEWS !!! YAY !!!

Prison break season one: 8.5

i've been a fan of 24, heroes and lost. Now after finished watching the whole episode back to back, i can safely add prison break in my top favourite show lists from the land of obesity and homosexuals: USA. the story seems simple: one genius guy enters a prison as a convict to free his innocent brother that was bound to the electric chair; but the process of the actual escape is very detailed and makes you wonder: man, is there a guy as smart as Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller)? The show started to get interesting very fast from the beginning, and the tension and storylines keeps getting better and better until the end. i don't want to spoil anything but i must say this, the character of each escapee were done very nicely and they have their own bold characteristics that made you feel attached at the very end of the season. Highly recommended.

Prison break season two: 8.0

At first, season 2 doesn’t feel different at all when it picks up just where season 1 left off, but you’d be surprised at how different it felt when the director tried to cope with the changing location and with the escapee out from the always greyish atmosphere of the prison, to the workings of the open and colourful nature of the outside world. The story felt like it’s dragging its feet with the atmosphere change but the excitement builds up fairly quickly with the introduction of more characters with different goals and means to achieve it. Although I liked the prison setting more than the ‘outside’ setting, still the story line is as twisted and interesting as before. Just like season one, every episode has its own cliff hanging end that obligates you into continuing to further involve yourself with the intricate characters and storylines. Highly recommended.

Irreversible: 7.2

This might be the weirdest French film I have ever seen. The disorienting camera work, unconventional scene progression technique (reverse-chronological order like the movie memento starring guy pearce), superb acting performances that really make you believe like it’s the real thing etc; every second of the first half of the film was truly a masterpiece. This is basically a revenge movie about a guy who went rampage on the guy who raped her women. the actual revenge scene must be one the most violent scenes I’ve ever scene in a movie. And oh, monica belucci got raped for 9 freaking minutes, without any cut at all. Disturbing or arousing, you decide. If you think you could handle screen violence, and want to see something different, try and watch this movie. I can’t recommend this to the mainstream public though because it’s so disturbing. The reason why I gave this movie such a low score is because the second half of the film was so mediocre and feels like a totally different change of pace that I think it was unnecessary to end the film in such a slow, boring way.

The Host: 8.0

A very well done monster movie from korea. The CGI of the monsters were done quite well and the story progression is easy to follow. There were some subtle Korean humour to be found but it would finally boils down to the man vs monster action sequences that make this movie a fun to watch. Recommended to every moviegoers.

writing from tokyo pt2

today i went off to akihabara again to hunt for some weirdness. i did a lot of sight seeing until i got bored, so i went to shinjuku to put my luggage in a luggage storage rental facility. then i went to karachi, a pakistani restaurant and was a bit delighted to see that i'm their first costumer for their buffet lunch time. ate a lot of pakistani curries. delicious and cheap. what a fantastic combination; but my enjoyment was interrupted a little bit when the owner scolded the girl waitress in loud, not-understandable hindi language. damn, that poor girl must have fucked up so bad to make the restaurant owner so fucking mad.

whatever. got on the 1745 hours bus to nagano and arrived at my room at about 2200 hours. it was tiring but i'm satisfied because i did what i wanted to do and it was fun. pictures will follow soon.

writing from tokyo

i'm in tokyo right now, at rehet's place. i've been staying in his place for 2 nights now but tonight i'm going to be staying in a cheap hostel in asakusa or maybe in my senpai's house at shinagawa. i spent most of my first day at akihabara, just sightseeing.

played against a japanese gamer on virtua fighter 5.... and i lost. every fucking game. and it was just a little boy! after getting my gamer pride crushed, broken and burned by a little japanese boy, i went to a manga cafe for healing time. then i was back on my feet again. there are some things that i wanted to buy there but i decided to do it on the last day because i don't want to carry them all around. second day i spent going to asakusa. i always wanted to go there but i just didn't have the time. there were too many people that day but it's fun. the kaminarimon is HUGE! bought some souvenirs. then i went to harajuku and bought a cool japanese themed jacket. i also met the softbank's famous 予想GUY (yosou guy) there and we talked for 5 minutes and took pictures. i didn't know that he was THAT nice and friendly!
then i walked from the harajuku station to omotesando. i took me 30 minutes or more because i was walking in a very slow pace, sightseeing the shops on the street. from omotesando, i went to shibuya and bought a pair of jeans with dragon designs on the back at jeans mate. i don't know if i want to wear it myself or use it as a present. feeling tired, i went to starbucks, THE starbucks overlooking the most busiest crossroad in the world that is located just in front of the shibuya station. had to wait for 30 minutes to get a seat but seeing that many people (there must be thousands of them) crossing roads at the same time is fun. they really looked like little ants in a hurry.

but i don't understand why the american girls sitting beside me with her friends couldn't stop using the word 'fuck' every time she LOUDLY speaks and giggles. they were just talking about regular stuff like how bad the wasabi tastes and how cute this one shoe is at this one shop right across the street.... is listening to a conversation of a group of foul mouthed american girls wrong?

raya raya raya

sempena hari raya aidilfitri hari ini izinkan aku menulis dalam bahasa melayu feweett !!!

so tahun ni aku beraya kat embassy malaysia kat shibuya, tokyo. waa dah lama tak pegi embassy. rupa-rupanya kulat2 kat pintu masuk embassy masih ada kat situ lagi. maybe sebab hari ni hujan kot. anyways, 23hb ngan 24bh cuti school festival so tahun ni pon bole la aku pegi beraya kat embassy. baik punya timing!

23hb pagi tu tergesa2 aku ngan piye naik bullet train sebab terlebih tidur la pulak. bertolak pkl 10:08 pagi and sampai tokyo dlm pkl 11:30 a.m. kot. sampai2 aje terus pegi UENO sebab aku nak buat kaca mata ( haha haha hahha haha haha hahaha hahaha !) baru oh yeah. macho siot spek baru aku. dah la harga berpatutan ( 10500 yen). aku suka kat kedai spek alook kat UENO nih sebab service dia bagus dan staff diaorg professional gila layan pelanggan. boleh dicontohi betul. piye pon beli spek jugak tapi kena tunggu 4-5 hari baru siap sebab kanta takde dalam stok. aku punya spek lak siap 25 minit aje.

lepas beli spek pegi solat jamak terus zuhur ngan asar kat surau IKEBUKURO. masuk2 surau ada sorang mamat Syria ngan Turki. So layan la borak2 ngan diaorg. brader Syria tu kawin ngan awek jepun. tapi yg aku peliknya bini dia still christian lagi, bole ke kawin? lagi pelik, ada jugak org jepun yg christian rupa2nya ?! kebiasaan nya org jepun sambut christmas lagi meriah drpd perayaan diaorg sendiri tapi tak tau satu haram pasal agama christian. diaorg ikut aje bulat2 budaya amerika. tapi yg makin aku heran ngan brader Syria tu dia cakap dia tak kerja pon. bini dia yg support kewangan rumah tangga. apa kebenda la org syria nih abih tu datang jepun buat apa. pastu complain plak cakap awek arab lagi cun drpd awek jepun. 知るかボケ! dah tau asal kawin ngan awek jepun lak? anyways aku kena sound " you're muslim right? so why can't you speak arabic? ". aduuh betul jugak tu. malu betul aku. uih masih belum lambat untuk aku belaja cakap arab! hmm.... mcam mana la diaorg mencarut kot bahasa arab aa? 気になる!

lepas solat pegi jumpa ngan kohai aku kat eki pastu pusing2 Sunshine City sementara nak tunggu waktu berbuka. tapi terlebih2 pusing, sampai terbeli jaket; tgk2 jam dah pkl 6 ptg ( berbuka pkl 5 lebih) so pegi la restoran pakistan MARHABA kat belakang eki IKEBUKURO. waa dah lama tak makan mutton beryani kedai nih ! time aku duduk tokyo dulu slalu gak datang situ makan. memang best! tapi manusia sentiasa kalah dengan nafsu nya. kitaorg order byk sgt roti sampai tak abis makan. 反省しています。 lepas makan, pegi STUDENT HOUSE kat MEGURO, tido.

dlm pkl 12 malam aku tersedar dari tido, tgk sekeliling takde org tapi terdengar suara gelak ketawa kat bilik dalam. alamak cuak la pulak apahal takde org tapi bole dengar suara org gelak ramai2 plak. tgk2 kohai2 kosen 3yr student baru sampai. tgk makan kuih raya diaorg rupanya. so aku pon sebagai senpai yg baik hati kena la tolong diaorg makan kuih raya. banyak sangat tuu. ahh... 美味しく頂きました! dah lama tak makan kuih raya. bole la. tapi ada sorang kohai ( lelaki) tu muka mcam adik perempuan munsip. hmm..... mushykil....

24hb pagi raya bebeh !!! yahuu jom turun mandi raya !!! sampai2 kat tempat shower ada kedengaran bunyi2 yg aneh lagi mencurigakan datang drpd bilik shower. hm... bunyi mcama.... oo patut la ada bdk pompoan tgh mandi. so aku cancel la mandi, naik atas ambik air wuduk aje. pakai baju melayu. slow2. sambil tersengih2.

sampai SHIBUYA dalam pkl 8:00 kot aku pon tak ingat. pastu naik bas kecik sampai embassy. hujan rintik2. pastu takbir raya ngan solat raya oh yeah ! ramai gila org datang. ada dalam 500-800 kot. pastu makan la kat atas. menu tahun ni pon biasa la. ada nasi himpit. nasi beryani. kari hijau aku tak tau nama. kari merah aku tak tau nama. apa lagi aa. tak ingat tapi aku ingat sumer nya sedap. waa ni baru rasa mcam raya ! kenkadang penin aku tgk baju kurung bdk pompoan yg berkilat2 dengan warna nya yg cerah2. ahh dah lama tak tengok pompoan melayu berbaju melayu yg bertudung mcam org melayu, makan makanan melayu dengan sudu, bukan dengan tangan yg merupakan cara sejati org melayu sejak berzaman. waa banyak nya MELAYU !!!

abis makan maka bermula la pesta dimana beratus2 org melayu bergambar2 bersama2 diaorg sendiri, setiap org berusaha bersungguh2 untuk memberi senyuman kepada kamera didepan sedang kan sumer org tau sebenarnya diaorg tu agak sayu tak bleh raya kat malaysia. hahaha padan muka diaorg ! i know you're faking that smile but it's ok. aku pon sangap jugak, join sumer org ambik gamba. dengan group yg aku tak kenal pon aku cuba masuk gamba diaorg. takpe. diaorg tak marah punya sebab raya. tapi brapa ratus keping la nak ambik penin aku. rimas pon ada jugak sebab kena fake smile. takpe lah asalkan diaorg bergembira di hari raya. aku join aje. aku pon nak bergembira.

abis2 bergamba, aku balik sensorang aje sebab aku dah beli tiket bullet train awal so tak leh tumpang senpai aku balik sampai nagano. lagi pon dia nak beraya lagi kat umah staff kedutaan. aku plak rasa mcam malas la pulak nak raya lama2. sket2 dah la kata seorg ahli nujum yg agak bijaksana. time aku nak pegi balik SHIBUYA eki tu terserempak ngan 2 org awek jepun pakai gothic pink sambil tarik beg luggage besaq gilo. pelik gila sampai aku terlupa nak ambil gamba. tapi yg aku geram nya bole plak dia tgk aku ngan muka pelik ( sebab aku gaijin la tu ). woi cik adik korang berdua tu yg pelik !

tengok2 jam baru pkl 2 p.m. hmm... takkan nak balik nagano terus kot. せっかく東京に来たんだから。so nak gi mana aa? aha ! jom pegi AKIHABARA ! lemas kat akihabara pegi HARAJUKU plak ! uwaaa nasib baik takde org wat cosplay lak di pagi hari raya yg mulia nih. alhamdulillah for the rain. time aku tgh pusing2 kat SUNSHINE CITY kat IKEBUKURO, aku terserempak sekali lagi ngan awek jepun gothic pink tadi. diaorg masuk SANRIO GIFT SHOP. haa memang sesuai la kedai tu ngan diaorg, satu kedai tu kaler pink. pening aku tgk. aku masuk sekejap aje tapi tak leh tahan. pusing2 kat YAMANOTE SEN sampai aku penin, baru la aku patah balik ke TOKYO pastu naik bullet train lagi ke NAGANO. tapi sebelum aku naik train aku tak lupa untuk belik buah tangan untuk mori kun : the famous TOKYO BANANA BAUMKUCHEN. sebelum balik asrama, beli onigiri fav aku karashi mentaiko (辛子明太子). sampai umah pkl 6:30 p.m. eh piye ngan bak tak balik lagi. takkan diaorg pegi fuuzoku kat ROPPONGI kot. hmm takpe lah. baik gi solat dulu. pas solat bukak com, chatting sket kat ym pastu aku terfikir. eh apa kata aku tulis blog kot melayu hari nih !? つうか、長えよ今回は!さて、秋田大学の編入学手続きの書類をそろってみよっか?

they love their gamers

the japanese love their gamers. when i was walking around Akihabara, Tokyo, there were lots of people gathering in front of a game store and i was just curious so i went to check it out. the huge crowd that could easily reach 50 people were watching this guy playing 太鼓の達人 (taiko no tatsujin; US title:Taiko Drum Master ). Taiko Drum Master is basically a japanese drum rhythm game where all you got to do is to hit the drum with the stick that comes with it , synchronizing with music; it's really easy to play and i enjoyed the game a lot although i suck at it. back to my main story: this guy got some very serious gaming skills; he scored perfect! he was soo into the game, he jumps around too; and you know how hardcore nerds move. there were lots of people taking pictures of this gamer (term for people who play games) using their mobile phones; he's been given the pop star treatment. after he finished playing, the crowd gave him a standing ovation (well everyone's standing so...) and cheered him.

the japanese are very cool with the gaming culture. not like the rest of the world, gaming is not strictly a kid's hobby here, it's an experiance that everyone can participate and there's nothing nerdy about it. outside japan, where gaming is still considered a kid's thing, people would probably diss this maybe in his mid-20's gamer and they probably would say " hey look at that weird asian guy nerd, he should get a life ". people don't understand, gamers need no life, they got lots if it.
